Relax your among friends. We are all here because we want to get prepared and help others do the same.  Preparing is not as hard as it seems but it does takes time for most of us. I don’t think any of us sit back a say I’m ready now. It is a continuous path we follow.  Putting together a 72 hour kit (also known as a Bug Out Bag, BOB), is a good start and confidence builder.  Food, First aid, water, dry clothes (can be a sweat suit), lighter/matches.  If you don’t have a tent, then a piece of heavy plastic or tarp for shelter.  Backpacks are good, but any bag is better than nothing.  Probably the biggest concern is getting the food together.  Think in terms of Ramon noodles, rice & beans, instant grits, potatoes, and oatmeal, energy bars.  The idea is to get the stuff together.  Your own your way, the next step is basically the same except now your looking farther out. If you need to, start with preparing for a week at a time instead of years then by all means start there. It adds up little by little. As you learn more you will add to, replace and remove items.  Just stay focused. It is a way of life, but don’t forget to enjoy life as you go.

I have 4 children and am married, and live in the river valley in Arkansas.  My husband thinks Im crazy so not sure if he would be going with me when the time comes.  I have only recently become aware of all these sites and realize I have no way as of now to protect my kids.  I dont have much to offer as of right now, but plan to start stockpiling as soon as I can.  Please consider letting me join  a group…if not for me  for my kids.  Not afraid to pull my own weight.

In my last post looking for people to  join me in my group I said I was going to go live off the land and place an rv where i wanted to go. Well a lot of ppl ask how I can afford to do that and why go now. Why go now….if a person waits till the last minute to go to their fall back positions or main locale without doing any type of work or preparing the land, then how are you going to make it there. You will no nothing of the land, what types of ediable plants you can plant and will thrive in that area. You will also need to find not 1 but 2 differant water sources. The reason I say 2 is basically in case one is tainted. How can I afford it. It is actually pretty easy to do so. I have enough preps to last a year or more. I go to where I am going learn the land, hunt, fish, trap and so forth. You will never be without food. As far as water my rv can hold 55 gallons of fresh water at a time. A close by river will remedy that situation with the proper filtration. Long as I have warm clothing food, water and my weapons to defend myself I am good to go. However as I have stated before I would like to have 1 or 2 more ppl with me for safety concerns. As far as communications i do have a lap top with satelite internet that is paid for the next 1.5 years. So I basically have most of it covered. If you wish to join me and think this is for you then please leave a comment with your email and I will get back to you. As I stated in previous post I am not looking for your money or for you to be a security detail only you willingness to survive is what I am asking for. The camper I have can sleep up to 8. So leave your comments if you are intrested I will not say where the land is at yet, to be honest i just purchased 40 acers somewhere in Colorado that has live water so all is good.

Hi Folks,

Well, I’ve blabbed enough about how I think the U.P. of Michigan is the place to be. As of this past week, the place next door to us is up for sale. It would be best suited for a Single person, or a Couple, and not a large family. It is 10 acres of land amidst a group of “never sell out” Christian Patriots. On the land sits a 30 ft. travel trailer parked under a carport. It has well, septic, etc., and has been used as a recreational property. It’s ready to move into, and won’t last long at 40K. Actually, it’s not even on the market yet. The owner told me about it, and I asked him to hold off listing it. I’m hoping to get some like-minded folks to get it, and come join us. So, here’s your chance, folks. For more info, pictures, etc., e-mail me at: bobanddarlene [at] uplogon [dot] com

I am new to this site and reletivly new to prepping. Live in a small house in the country in the vicinity of Topeka KS. Looking for like minded people in and around KS, possibly start a group. At this time we don’t intend on relocating if and when things go under but we’re still planning things out.
