Just checking in from the Raleigh, NC area.  I’m an Engineer, started prepping  recently… Guns, Ammo,  Water treatment, backup power, fuel etc….  The wife (MD)  is skeptical at this point but hasn’t complained about the additionnal supplies.  Need advice on how to get her fully on board before looking into joining a group.

I am a retired female federal law enforcement officer.  I have been prepping for over a year now, and am getting close (except for ammo – can never have too much) to having my years worth of supplies for myself, my son, and his wife (neither of whom lie with me.)  I am currently planning on directing my attention towards find a location for our retreat.  After researching the options, I am looking at Northeast WA and ID. I’d love Wyoming, but not a long enough growing season and land prices are very high.  I am looking for prepping grandmas who were (and still are single mothers) to communicate with.  Rancher gave me wonderful advice two years ago, when I first started prepping.  I have taken it to heart and am still trying to make sure I utilize the wisdom he shared, but we single older females have many different difficulties that males don’t seem to have.  If there is a single granny trying to get the job done and would like to talk, you can email me at CuriousInOrlando [at] msn [dot] com, or respond on this forum. I love this site because the “kids” here offer such wonderful ideas of how to solve problems from so many different angles, and the wise heads of the “Been there, done that” group step in and tell you if it will work or not.
