A wise man once said I have seen many prepping groups come and go on this site. I have also followed the many posts from SOCAL to websites posted and now defunct or posts with no activity for many months. If you are in the desert area of SOCAL and interested in finding others like yourself, then post here and check in frequently.

Orange county has a prepping group and it is active there is another one that was in the San B area but it is now inactive as the website is shut down and there has been no activity in 8 months or more. So if you live in and around the high desert area and are SERIOUS about prepping and have already a minimum of 1 years supply of food, medical, defense, personal hygeine items I would like to hear from you. We have a small group here and are open to possibilities of increasing its size.

I am fairly new to prepping and would like to network with like mined people.  I am an average concerned citizen with no political or religous agenda and would like to join or start a group of people with simular goals and interest to exchange information and develop resources.

Hey there,

I’m a 25 year old single male.  I’m a Paramedic and soon to be (roughly 6 months) a BSN Nurse.  I intend to continue my medical training through a Nurse Practitioner or MD program in the relatively near future.

I’ve made only the most basic preparations for myself, 30 days of food and water in house; firearms and the ability to use them; I’m no survival expert but I was a boy scout and feel comfortable in the woods for upwards of a week….  etc.

I’m willing and able to put more into my prepping, but I feel as a single individual in a house in the middle of suburbia I am already starting at a disadvantage…

I would like to find a group in Oregon or southern Washington (no ones ever accused me of being unwilling to make a little drive now and then, I live near Portland for reference).  Proximity to me is less important than an established location that is sustainable.  I would not be looking to move to the group yet, but instead establish a relationship and build my stockpile of supplies there in order to bug out to that location if needed in the future.  I would be happy to participate in any reasonable meeting/training schedule with the group that was required also.

Overall I’m not really sure what else I should put in here, so if you’re reading this and you think you might have a bit of space but have some more questions feel free to send them on over and I’ll be more than happy to answer them.

Good afternoon fellow preppers,

Thank you for your support & acceptance in advance and I look forward to contributing where I can and finding members in my community.

By way of background, please allow me to introduce myself.

I’m pretty new at this sort of environment. (Blogs, internet groups.) I’m trying my hand at this and if I fail on one of the guidlines, I would like to assure you it is out of my naiveté and not intentional.

I have not read any of the books on the recommended list but will remedy that as soon as I can. I have done research on the, (for a lack of a better phrase,)  ”Art of Prepping”  I cannot speak on all subjects but I am certainly ready to learn.

I am an EMT/FF & CPR instructor but I don’t think I’m the only EMT/FF in the world. What I mean is, I don’t have a cape with a big S on it who believes he has all of the right answers all of the time.

So, again thank you for letting me be here.

Rick.

Evening all! I am in Austin area, interested in talking to other local preppers. I find that I dont really WANT to collaborate but feel that I/we need to, lol, is that just me or is that a prepper paranoia trait? All my Folks dont share my interest and concern for the impending SHTF and I am tired of pouring over everything on the Internet, need some real live prepper interaction! Or maybe a Xanax, who knows? I am surburban prepping in an apartment, with aging parents in town, and no option to bug out. Feel free to contact me at s.c.craig at att.net.

Like most that are first time posters I would like to know what may be in place and what personnel active groups are looking for. I’m serious minded and have a number of skills that may be useful. Those that are the leads for the more serious active groups I would like to make contact with.

Basics are on my profile.  Interested please e-mail:

Maybe our post was too hard core and scared off people.  Maybe there are no other folks out there left to prep.  I talked to one other prepper with land and it seems only a few flakes answered him.  Since we were both Marine Corps we seem to have the same ideas.  We both own land and are in for the long haul.

Maybe people do not want to really think about what is happening in the world today.   Seems no one is really watching our leaders and the crap they are doing behind our backs, or trying too do.  I personally think everyone is waiting till the last minute to try and really get ready.  In case you missed it the prices of goods and services are increasing faster now than at any time in our countries history, with the exception of the Great Depression.

Our group is looking for 3 or 4 new family groups to join us.  We are not asking for you to bring money and pay us to join.  We want you to use your funds and get yourself and family ready.  We are willing to offer information to people we accept so that they can prepare to fit into our group.  We meet, we train and we work on the place so we are ready when time comes for everyone to bug out.

If all you have is camping gear you need to look at some other long term options on prep.   Camping tents are good for awhile but we tested 16 different style temts over two years and only found one type of material that will last two years in the elements.  We also found that only two configurations of tent seem to last that long.  We found that having materials on the ground ready to construct a permanent shelter, when the time dictates, is the best long term solution to having a happy, warm, and safe family.

So look at us again and let us look at you.  Remember fun has to be involved in all this.  Who wants to live on in a crappy world with no laughter?   Not us.

Looking for other Northern California preppers. Looking to assemble a medium sized group of people.
We will not be a racial biased group or one focused on religion. Maybe a bit aged biased. In the interest of the parties we are gonna prepare this group around logical intelligence, in lew of youthful aggression and lack of patience. Basically that means no one under 30 yrs of age (excluding Children). No felons convicted of moral turpitude will be admitted to our group either. All applicants will have background checks performed. Time is running out so give us a email and lets see if were on the same page.

last year in nov. I began waking up at 4am without fail. I felt as though there were an impending feeling of doom, that created a deep seated fear within myself. my only resolution was the only one I knew so I prayed, continuosly in every aspect of my research, hoping that I would be led were the father wanted me to go, as you all remember signs of global change began occurring in rapid succession i.e, cristchurh, dome of the rock message, egypts revolution ect…on feb 10th 2011 I had a powerful vision in prayer of an unimaginably huge destructive earthquake that will result in the decimation/inundation of all coastal regions in the ring of fire as well as every volcano we know of and hundreds we don’t.

on that same day a powerful feeling told me to take note of the date 3-11-11. so I drew a circle around a cross on the calender date of march 11th. I believe I was shown that date as confirmation..So when the feeling came again I would recognize it AND I  HAVE nov13th..ALL BETS ARE OFF GET READY RIGHT NOW…Last year I told six families about the calender date of march 11th .that something might happen.. and it did…now I have that same feeling.Only I don’t know anybody here as I have just recently moved here.sooo  lets talk about hookin’ up.(not to make light of urgency). PLEASE I AM VERY SERIOUS UB2K

Hey all been a member here for a while now and posted a couple of times under a different nickname

looking to network with other preppers.Ive had some success although the person im thinking of kind of petered out as a prepper and some failure which i wont go into except to say that “harsh” guy is right to be the way he is.

Little about me Ive been a prepper since I was a kid did not think of myself back then as one but I guess I was since at 14 I stashed food and tools ready for the inevitable nuclear destrution LOL after watching the movie The Day After

That movie realy freaked me out as a kid.

Well initially in my early prepper years I was a head for the hills and live of the land type of prepper when the first gulf war was in action I made caches of food and equipment in the mountains near a cave and water supply I knew of.

As Ive goten older and I hope wiser I have changed from a solo head for the hills type to a group type prepper and to what I now think of as a community type prepper.

If I can use the Rawles story patriots/triple ought as an example of a group prep situation and the books one second after or lucifers hammer as a community prep situation.

A solo prep and group prep I believe can all fall within a community prep if need be in fact i think they should. I have children now and i think being part of a community is the way to go.

So where im at at the moment you may ask Im prepped (never fully) I’m bugged out to a good location and am working hard at developing a sustainable food supply but im still basically solo although there is a good comunity about 10 miles away that I think could pull together during tshtf and that is why I picked this area . but at the moment its just a sleepy little town in rural America.

My skills and what I have to offer

First in tune with how my prepping developed im a wilderness survival expert it sounds romantic to some head to the hills and live of the land like a aboriginal but most would not succeed I’m one of very few who could. LOL and I know enough to know I’d rather not.

Second I have many skills which have developed from hobbys but would be a carreer back in the 1800,s like blacksmithing for example animal husbandry and farming for others many many more as well.

Third I have modern technical skills mechanics, electronics I can work with communications gear, alternate power systems, repair, modify or rebuild mechanical equipment.also some military expierience but have never seen any combat and would rather not.

What im lacking is a group and preferably one that has a doctor, dentist or vetrinarion. I have been trying to develop my own and the “Harsh” guy lol is right I’m a day late and a dollar short it takes time I don’t think I have to weed out the freeloaders and worse from a group situation.

Yeah right you woke up 2 months or 2 years ago lol what were you doing before then? I mean I’m happy to help anyone if I can but i’m first going to help those who can also help me if I need it.

So right at the moment I’m considering trying to join another group that has been building group and community longer than myself even if that means packing up again and redeveloping another property.

“Harsh” guy your deal would not work for me unless there was nearby cheap land I could purchase to develop my own thing as well I don’t believe in having to bug out to a retreat but rather develop my life and business around being bugged in already if you know what i mean. There is no way I could move all my stuff in a bug out situation and i’d feel a little awkward setting up solar panels and greenhouses etc on someone elses land even if it was allowed.

I’m also still working on my own local and if I can find 1 or 2 good people or couples to move in and develop nearby then this would be a great spot as well. I just dont think I have the time anymore.

Oh what i’m prepping for is most everything in general but financial disaster, peak oil and food scarcity/cost seem all on the horizon.

Interested in western states but not CA

I am new to this site and wanted to tell you a bit about us, I am a nurse(58) and Husband(56) is heavy equipment and we have been prepping for about two years after we woke up.

We are Christian, we ride and own motorcycles and been in ministry but we are not fanatics. We are honest hard working Americans who dont believe the goverment either owes us something or should make our descions for us.

We have put a lot of emphasis on Medical, Food and preperation for Gardining, altho im not a country girl im a city girl, I/We have a lot of common sence.

I dont know too much about solar, would like to know more so i will be looking at joining discussions about that. But more importantly, we dont have property and feel this is paramount at this time. So, i would love to have dialouge with folks about that. We are in a posioton to buy property but  not enough to buy a subsatanial amount of property and do believe there is safety & progress in numbers, so are considering a co-opt of sorts. We do have a small group of folks who we exchage ideas, and get together and talk about thses issues and so they may be wanting to be a part of a co-opt also.

We do not have a military background, but both have learned as much as we can and traned our self with the essential tools for our safety.

Well thats it in a nut shell, hope to recieve some feedback and make some friends here. Have a Blessed Day & GOD BLESS.

CCrider.

I’m just trying to find a few like-minded people around the Fort Hood area.  I haven’t been able to put together any significant inventories because of personal reasons but that’s soon to change and I’m pretty sure that I can bring a fair bit of relevant knowledge to the table that will help make up for that fact.  If interested, feel free to e-mail me at assalamu [dot] alaikum [at] mail [dot] com.

Let me begin by introducing myself,   I am a 52 years old male and a native of North Carolina.  I currently live in Greensboro, NC.

I am very interested in finding a group in the Appalachian Mountain/foothills region of North Carolina/Virginia.  I would consider other areas, but prefer to avoid urban areas. I grew up in the country and possess all the normal skills of most country boys: hunting, farming,  fishing and most construction skills (especially carpentry, plumbing and electrical).  I am a former Army Paratrooper with an extensive background in weapons and tactics.   I am currently building my first solar panel and am very interest in off-grid technology.  By profession I am a Computer Network Engineer.

Ideally, it would be nice to find a group that I can join and start building for our joint future. I have my own supplies and have no problem working on projects for the common good of the group.  Politically, I identify myself as a Libertarian.  I have no criminal record of any type and have no problem with a background check if/when I find the right group.  If anyone out there is interested and has an opening in their group please drop me a line and lets get to know one another and discuss possibilities.  I can be reached at ,  southern-tiger at hotmail dot com   (I am huge Detroit Tigers fan, thus southern-tiger).  I look forward to hearing from like-minded people in the area.

I’m new to prepping, I have a non supportive wife, I also have  three stepsons who are in their teens, who all they do is eat and sleep.  Just need some advice on how to do this.  Funds are definately limited.  What to buy and how much to buy.  I’ve seen different websites saying that I should buy this, and that.  Need real advice from real people
