I'm in Southwest Missouri and reaching out to individuals and groups interested in survival preparation. I believe that sensible preparation is more about a life-style choice as opposed to attempting to prepare for any eventual catastrophic event. To put it short, the day we need to be prepared for a catastrophic event, any amount of preparation will not be enough. The sensible approach is to plan for your neighbors as well as yourself. By that, I don't mean hording enough supplies for everybody on your block or everyone nearby your property. But with leadership and sensible preventive preparation, there is no reason you can't coordinate with people who also see the value in coordinating efforts and combining efforts for the support of all. Your government suggests that you prepare for three days of no assistance from the government. But as we've all seen from recent history, depending on the severity of the event, and the scope of any catastrophic event that may occur, you may be waiting a lot longer for government assistance. The solution is to know your neighbor. This doesn't mean that you are responsible for every person that didn't take sensible precautions. But you can influence those around you by reaching out and discussing these things before a catastrophic event. Rest assured, after the event happens, you will be meeting your neighbor and most likely lending assistance. Or, you might need assistance yourself. Plan for yourself and plan for those around you. Make every effort to help those around you in times of need. This is what America is all about. Prepare America.
