I'm 36yo and live around the dandenong area. I have an 18yo son and am a single father. I'm new to prepping and looking for people to connect with and learn from. I don't have any particular skills but am a quick learner. I'm wary about trusting people and tend to keep to myself for the most part. Partly I want to meet some like minded friends, and partly I want to get involved with a group, and design my own prepping project eventually. I realise these things always work better with a few friendly hands, and if the SHTF, we are stronger together than alone. So ideally my project is to build my bug out/home location as a self contained, self sustaining off the grid permaculture habitat capable of sustaining a small population. At least that's my concept and goal I'm going to work toward. Some of the things I'd like to learn from other preppers is survival skills, permaculture techniques, defensive skills - I.e property protection and defense methods, firearms handling for hunting and defensive purposes.. I've no interest in invading anyone or taking what isn't mine.. just in making sure no one does it to me or those with me. Id also love to learn some technical stuff like welding, desigining/building generators, and anything that can be handy I guess. I don't think there is such a thing as having too much knowledge or capability.
