Details can be found on our website, which should be online by the end of the week. I will post the web address at that time. In the meantime, feel free to contact us at beprepared2013 [at] yahoo [dot] com. Our goal is to provide an educational venue on the East Coast similar to what is provided in Nashville, Denver, Arlington, TX, and other western and central US cities. Please spread the word.

I have 50 acres of isolated land in central ME, just south of Moosehead Lake. I am 21 and will be graduating college with a degree in Mechanical/Aerospace engineering in May. I have no money (yet) but unbelievable determination to create a fully self-sufficient off-grid paradise on my land. I have been thinking about lending land to serious preppers, allowing them to pursue their dreams without paying for the land. The only thing I ask is to fully welcome my family and I during a time of crisis, essentially creating a bug-out location for my family while pursuing your own plans. As soon as I have the money to do so I plan on moving there and investing the time and money into stockpiling and homesteading, but I am afraid that I may not have enough time before shit hits the fan. Please email me if you are interested and we can discuss details further.

Hi Everybody
I have a partner as well, and two small dogs. I’ve been preparing for 5 to 7 years, maybe 10, maybe 11, depending on how you look at it.
Anyway, I am looking to buy or join others on a property approximately 15 to 30 acres and position several all-season travel trailers on the land, or perhaps some other arrangement if someone else has something better in mind. I’m flexible on location right now, since I have none at the moment. Thinking about upstate NY, central/western/northern VT, western Mass, NH, possibly Maine, possibly CT.
At the moment I live on five acres overlooking the Hudson River about 20-something miles north/northwest of the city, about 35 minutes by express train from Grand Central, 45 minutes by car.
The more serious that I get about it, the more uncertain my “serious” prepper friends become about it, and that really concerns me. I have suggested a budget of $50,000 per household, being $30,000 toward land purchase and $20,000 toward housing accommodation. Well that got cold feet, and that concerns me because I don’t see how we could actually get by a freezing cold winter of 4- to 5- months long unless we are prepared to pay for it. Perhaps we could do with a lesser budget for land were we to find something suitable in NH or ME.
So I am looking to find others who are seriously interested and/or who may already have land and might be interested in my joining with my partner.

Hey how you doing fellow preppers out there I’m .was just wondering the cost of any land out there in NH,VT,ME,MA, CTor NY all in higher elevations, at least 500 feet or more above sea level on an acre or two of land .. It just came to me to look up online for others like me . Ive tried talking with people I know and no “dice” , Some people are just stuck in that Neanderthal stat of mind.. O.. Well……. Im a great asset to any group or camps of preppers with skills and supplies . Iv been getting ready for a year 1/2 now I have everything I need to survive a full year or more without leaving the house.. I have seeds of all kinds to plant, 55 gal drums of gas, propane, kerosine , generators, heaters… Water, water filters, weapons,, plenty of weapons and great amounts of ammunition.. Willing to help who ever with building a good location but don’t want to pay $$ to much for land when I could use that money $$ towards more supplies and shelter . . I would be able to put some serious time into working on a location I come alone not married or kids.. not yet anyway;; . I prep to be safe and ready!!! for what ever comes our way these day time are changing really fast and if you don’t see that then your a fool, I’ve tried to cover all the bases as far as what could happen and where but I still have a lot to learn (I just purchased a few books on hunting, trapping, plating, defense ect,ect.. But already know a bit on everything .. This is when others and other groups come in hand… I’m fit, have my own business 24 years now.. im really good with my hands and can build anything and fix anything figure out situations of all sorts, Well I’ve said enough,, I think we should talk and maybe meet so we can get a better sense of one another .. Need that trust!!! jmskimcoat [at] aol [dot] com.. Hope to hear back from you … Prep On!!!!

Looking for people to join a sharefarm cooperative that is in the formative stages. Need fifty families to develop a one-hundred-forty acre farm as a working farm in eastern Connecticut, while normal society continues to function. Farm will operate as multi-product general farm, producing goods to be consumed by share holders or to be sold at local markets. Shareholders who choose to sell rather than consume their produce will receive a dividend after costs are paid at the end of the fiscal year.
Fifty camp sites with working septic, electric and water systems will be built on farm to be used when/if farm goes to garrison status. As long as society functions normally, shareholders will be able to stay on the farm as a recreation, when ever they want. Each share holder will be responsible for providing a suitable camper to house self and family in either case. Recreational opportunities are many beside experiencing a working farm. Swimming, fishing, hiking, target practice and hunting with firearms or bow and arrow, biking…
Farm presently under consideration has 1000′ frontage on year round river, backs against large state forest, has agricultural neighbors elsewhere- none close. 90 acres are presently in corn and pasturage. 60 acres are wooded. Entire property is at the end of a town road well away for highway and major population centers.

Evening to all,
Not sure if there are any like minded people in Litchfield county, was hoping to find some.
Looking to see if groups have formed up close to the homestead and/or if there are others looking to at least network for possible mutual aid should the need arise
Have seen and responded to a few posts that start in the “Connecticut”, only to see them dead end or people went elsewhere and not in the New England category.
We’re in southern Litchfield county between Thomaston and Winsted.
Started prepping a few years back (or is that collecting things). Intent is to Bug in and if too hot then bug out. Redundant means of cooking, heating. Working on a portable rain water collection system that may go to market once we find out about any existing patents.
Background in small engine repair, aviation, and firearms instruction.Wife has the green thumb and keeps us in the red, green, and other colors of veggies. Not a bad cook either.
Can’t imagine everyone in our area is operating as a lone wolf, but certainly understand people not compromising their Opsec, thus tipping their hand. Understandable when people don’t know each other short term or otherwise.
Would like to share ideas and cross check variables I may have missed.
Look forward to any responses and hope it leads to some more dialog for those of us in CT that may have to dig in their heels.

Researching the possibility of building a survival/vacation retreat in NY, CT, or PA. Upstate NY land seems inexpensive around Cooperstown, for example.
I’d like it to be a fun place to take the family on vacations and to be a smart investment. That way if nothing goes wrong, we invested in a nice property and enjoyed working and playing there on vacation.
If, on the other hand, society does fall apart, I’d like the place to …
1) be hidden from view from the main road.
2) have a clean source of potable water.
3) have buildings powered with solar, hydroelectric, wind, backup generators etc…
4) have orchards and arable land for crops.
5) have a barn for animals.
6) have a chicken-coop.
7) have a fallout shelter.
8) have a stockpile of food, medicine, hunting and fishing equipment, and seeds.
9) have a wood-burning stove.
10) have a workshop.
Everything starts with an idea. If anyone has similar thoughts or suggestions, let me know.
Looking for like-minded groups including families with children to join with or form new. Have own large compound in upstate NY near Lake Sacandaga in Saratoga County but are open to another area. I am former US Navy Corpsman who was attached to USMC unit in Viet Nam, trained in wilderness survival, emergency medicine and field surgery, a retired engineer and inventor, with many construction and fabrication skills. I have two teenagers, male and female, Black Belts in MMA, Taekwondo, rifle, archery and survival skills. Wife is trained in emergency first aid and is a physical therapist. We are serious in our commitment.
Howdy, i’m new to this site trying to connect with local preppers to get new ideas and try to get an idea of how many people in the area are prepping.
Anyone in the quiet corner prepping?
My best friend and I, and our families are looking to form or join a group. I’m a Firefighter EMT with many other skills, my wife is a nurse, and we have 3 children 10,7, and 6, all healthy and strong. My friend is a cop, well armed, with a healthy family (3 kids and a wife). We have both been prepping for a little while, but feel there is strength in numbers. We are both used to working under the worst conditions and trained in others (natural disasters, terrorism, NBC attacks, etc…) but lack certain necessary skills for sustainable survival such as farming. We’re looking to partner with people, preferably families, strong and healthy, that can bring the skills we lack. We are willing to put in whatever work is necessary to successfully prepare. If you’re interested, please leave your email and I will contact you.
Hi~
I’m reaching out here because I am getting no where on my own. I moved to Long Island a few years ago from Queens. Now I feel like fleeing/moving upstate. I don’t know, I’ll have to discern that.
I talk about things with friends but we never do anything, but now I’m moved to act. And I need to. Basically my profile is I’m a team player, a good shot, an EMT with a little experience, a vollie, in great shape, Christian – I believe in God and try to live my faith, insightful, caring, straightforward, hard working, good with technology, etc. I want to see where this leads – to meeting like minded people, being inspired to do what I need to, joining a group, etc. Please contact me if you like. Thanks.
Looking for Connecticut preppers to discuss options & alternatives if needed.
Hi…Anyone in NW CT interested in getting a group together to meet and discuss the inevitable….Thanks….Bo
