I am a father of two my and my wife are working on prepping for a long term survival plan. I can live off the land I hunt fish build what I kneed I trap and am good at outdoor and cold weather survival. I am working on building my location up and also have a fall out location at my fathers with a few acres of woods secure and stocked x military have a good weapons stock along with ammo and working on a reloading set up with casting everything. Looking for a couple with kids or a single parent that can bring good skills to the table or willing to learn to survive.
I am currently looking to join or build a prepper group in Southeastern Pa. and Northern Delaware. Our family has been slowly prepping for over a year and still have many questions. This is my first post to this forum so I hope it is in the right spot. While it is very awkward to post this we would like to share what we have learned and have a need to learn much much more. I read today that there are still 800 apartment buildings and over 6000 residential homes without power and heat in NYC. I do not want this to be one of us. PM or e-mail me at, rtc19348 [at] gmail [dot] com so we can meet up. I posted this specific location because we are busy and have very full lives. While I would like to drive to Delaware Prepper Group meetings in Georgetown, I cannot afford the time, hence our desire to join or build one here.
Thanks for your time.
Anyone in here from LSD? I moved here from Texas and had a great prepper network to Rehoboth to I don’t know a single other prepper.
Survival Training Meet-up
Dehydrating Meat and Fish
Date and Time: August 16, 2012 at 7 PM
Hosted by Joe Parish
Cost FREE
This week at our Meet-up we will continue with our “new” prepper program and will be covering the dehydration of meat, shrimp and fish. Several people have expressed an interest in knowing how to dehydrate hamburger so we will be covering that topic at this meet-up. As a bonus, we will be discussing how to dehydrate complete meals such as spaghetti with tomato sauce and placing them into a Mylar bag for long term storage. We can store a whole lot more of dehydrated foods than we can jars of fresh products..
Learn how to dehydrate common deli meats into a treat or for emergency food additives
Learn how to dehydrate ground beef
Learn how to dehydrate shrimp
Learn how to dehydrate tuna
Learn how to dehydrate complete meals such as spaghetti
We will have some samples for the attendees to taste and even reconstitute some dehydrated spaghetti for a small treat so that you know what you can expect.
This meet-up should put you well ahead in the principles of dehydrating foods. Be sure to bring a pad of paper and a pen to take notes.
When: August 16, 2012 at 7 PM
Where: Redden State Park Education Center, Georgetown DE
For respect to our speaker we must ask that no very small children be brought to the meet-up. Pass the word. For your convenience you may submit specific questions ahead of time. Please respond if you plan to attend as we must know how much food to bring. I can be contacted at joseph [dot] parish [at] survival-training [dot] info .
Hello All,
My wife and I have been prepping for a few years, we have two kids and are very set up for self reliance here. However, we are looking for a “Plan B” as in bug out location if there are any groups looking for some individuals we would be happy to hear from you. I am working on my own solution as it seems that most people on here say hello and exchange an email but then not really follow up. How unfortunate, we are not here to waste your time, only to make the best of the time that’s left before this economy crumbles.
Best Regards,
Junkmale1006 [at] aol [dot] com
Being new to the group I hope I placed this in the right area.
Delmarva Survival Training will host a Meet-up entitled “Easy Food Storage on a Budget” This meet-up will be held on May 31, 2012 at 7 PM. Naturally like all our meet-up this one will be free of charge. Think for a moment….. Have you noticed the increase in cost relating to your normally weekly staple shopping at the grocery store? These prices are only going to escalate higher and higher with the increased cost of fuel. It takes truck loads of products around the nation to supply our supermarkets with food. In the event we experience a stoppage within this transportation chain for any reason what-so-ever than society tends to be disrupted and starts to disintegrate. If you have the foresight to store up on food and know the basic principles of food preservation you are essentially one step ahead of the game. Food costs will never again go down but only up and as such we should be preparing.
This scheduled meet-up will cover several topics relating to food storage and preservation and should prove to be an interesting and entertaining get together. Subjects which we intend to discuss include:
What kind of people stock up on food and what is their mindset
Nutritional requirements of emergency food supplies
Water bath canning principles
Pressure canning operations
Shelf life of stored foods
Purchasing canned foods and properly rotating your stock
All about containers – Those you can use and those you can not use
Dehydrating foods and storing them for over ten years
…….. and more
We should be able to store up during the good times in order to compensate for the upcoming bad and this meet-up will help to prepare you and your family for such an event. This get together will be conducted by experienced preppers who have learned from their mistakes and are ready to instruct others so they do not make the same errors.
When: May 31, 2012 at 7 PM
Where: Redden State Park Education Center, Georgetown DE
For your convenience you may submit specific questions ahead of time. Pass the word around. Please respond if you plan to attend as we have a 25 person limit. I can be contacted at joseph [dot] parish [at] survival-training [dot] info .
I’m in New Castle County, Delaware looking to meet other Delaware preppers to share knowledge and ideas. I’m a local business owner and have been prepping seriously for about 2 years. I believe that the economy will collapse in the near future. There are a dozen different problems in the world that can cause this, but the sure trigger will be public panic. If they call for 1 inch of snow in Delaware, bread and milk shelves at the store are empty in hours. No joke. Imagine when the entire country tries to withdrawal their savings at the same time. I need to meet some like minded local people.
just trying to stir the pot and get some advice go easy as this is my first post. i am a recently seperated vet that just got back from being stationed in germany. being in delaware i dont consider this area stable if any kind of collapse were to hit. furthermore i dont have the assets available to relocate as of now. if everything was to collapse and i wanted to get out what would some more experienced people do to make leaving a reality
Just putting up a new post to get together with others from our area. I have met a few new folks already as a new member myself. I’m just glad there is hope that if the poop hits the fan I will already know some people who where thinking the same thing and took time to put away the basics. As I read most of the posts, I can see that things might be different from folks on the other side of the bay, ” The WEST-NW/SW/the Mid WEST/ Lower SOUTH/North East and all parts in between. Here on the Shore”DELMARVA” we have a lot to live off of, as an Internet Group we can help each other with the paine of some of the jokes that come our way, and still continue to prep knowing we are not alone. I am here to help and I hope I can get some Help , as there are things I just don’t know about. Thank’s for INFO if you got it.MB
Meeting People! Networking
I totaly agree with meeting people close to you, see what there doing and what not. But everyone believes what they want to believe. But people need to meet on this site from all over. Comment on peoples posts talk to each other. Because in this day and age with all the travel we do for fun and work, we never know where we will be when anything happens. So knowing more people like us only helps all of us in the long run. Thats my thoughts!!
Hello, just moved Media (45 mins outside center city philly). I know there is not much time left so my wife and I are looking to partner with like minded and equally yolked people! I’m not interested in anyone’s ego, how much more religious or Christian they are than me, they’re political views, or what events they “know” are forth coming. What difference does it make when our main objective is to healthily survive? All I’m interested in is loyalty, intelligence, wisdom and compassion.
So lets cut to the chase and save what precious time we have left:
Me:
- Professional fighter (mma, 13 years)
- Have 5 years tactical/defense training
- First Responder training, First Aid and AED Training
- Tower rigging and climbing as well
- I am loyal to a fault, once we join forces WE are family – simple.
- Currently have a fair sized cache of food supplies and tactical equipment
- I’m a great listener, can follow orders or take lead. Simply NO EGO here
- 2 wives and 1 baby on the way
- Wives, excellent cooks, clean, and are educators, can lock, load, and shoot
- Just ordered a m35a3 (6×6)
- Am looking to build a underground bunker, with 8ft burm, CBC filters, and all of the fixings (8-12 people for a min of 5 years)
- My credit sucks, though I do have a few bucks and will work hard to make sure WE as a cohesive unit have what we need to survive.
We all have to die – I intend not to die at the hands of my government, a solar flare, radiation from fallout or an alien attack. Message me if you think we can come out on the other side together. If I perish, my family is yours and live in honor!
I am a 25 year man with a wife and two kids. I have been prepping for the last year, not a whole lot but a little here and there is better than nothing. With the uncertain times ahead I have been looking to find a bug out location with like-minded souls. I have family down in NC but if I can not make it there in time, i have made maps to route me into PA. I have not let me loved ones into my thoughts too much, mainly because i don’t want them to worry. But i would like to connect with others. I guess I would be considered a newbie. Let me know if anyone is close by with like ideas and we can connect. This is my first posts so be easy.
