Hi there,

Looking to network, partner, prep, socialize with other preppers in the Greater Chicagoland area (up to five hour drive from Chicago Loop). Have some land and currently in the planning and designing stage of a large 130′x 30-50′ organic garden in the west suburbs. Have access to highest level of combat, anti-personnel, survival, defense, offense tactical training available through contacts in MARSOC. Just received my FIOD and will start training soon.

About Me:
Originally from Wheaton, currently living on Chicago’s NW side near Diversey exit. Christian, straight, married 36 y.o. male with 1.5 y.o. daughter. Just getting started with this whole concept and starting from scratch.

Why I Am Prepping:
This country is getting more and more screwed up. FDA approved poisoning of food by Monsanto, Obama grabbing guns and instituting Islam into our country and removing Christianity from schools and society, FEMA and DHS stealing our liberties one by one – this is all nuts. I’m a normal guy and don’t think the world will end at midnight but I do believe that there are “too many something’s wrong” going on not to at least make some sensible preparations just incase SHTF and the world becomes FUBAR overnight or over time. I am NOT anti-government. I am looking to meet balanced, practical people who are serious about making a long term commitment to this. Racist, radical, lazy, anti-religious, all talk individuals are not welcome to contact me. Old or young educated or not, rich or poor, black or white, I don’t care. Must be of high moral character and have no criminal background. Don’t have to be perfect but people of questionable integrity will not be welcome.

I have sort of a MAG (Mutual Assistance Group) here in SoCal. I am big on sharing knowledge, and I am big on testing out plans and ideas. When I build a machine, I like to see it work. If that sounds like your cup of tea, read on. I think the time has come to continue to expand my small group, so here we go.

Why show up?
Well, you get some access to me. I am a sharp cookie. I bring a lot to the table, and there is little I have found I cannot do. Read my posts in the forum to get a gist of how much I am *not* spinning a line of ego or BS. This is something I take seriously, but I am also living my life with reasonable comforts. That means I can help you get serious business done, but I am sociable, as people go. The other group members also bring helpful things with them, we cover nearly every topic one needs for a proper end-to-end survival gig. I also teach classes at the local prepper group: http://meetup.com/PalmdalePreppers watch me there if you like. If it is prepping related, I have probably done it.

Why this group?
Because we might be local to you. If you are able to drive, and are in the southern California/high desert area. Because the group is serious about getting stuff done, but also not nazi commandos about missing a weekend. Because you need not subscribe to a particular philosophy other than perhaps wanting to out-live your fellow man. Because you have something to share. Because you want to prove your great ideas wrong to make them better, and you need some help with that. Because you are not sure where to start. Or where to pick back up. Or where to go next. Or want to help your fellow man learn a new trick.

How would it work?
We do a first date. I talk with you over coffee (unless you know someone already in the group, and they vetted you). A place that is neutral, and public. I like coffee, you can drink what you like. I decide if you are sane, and available.
Next we discuss a few hook projects. What interests you? Solar power? Diesel engines? Marksmanship? And if we mesh ideas, we plan a weekend and a project. You meet some people over beer. I like beer, you can drink what you prefer. If you like it, you come back.

What should I expect?
Work. Really, you have to try at this. You need to arrive consistently, practice things, opt in for the hard learning. Spend some money, maybe. Treat it like a hobby that has some meaning. And if you want the better benefits, like access to the super secret bunker or a place to cache things, expect to help pitch in on labor. Do not expect a partial ownership, sorry. Do expect to get dirty. It is hard to shoot prone in a rush without getting a little dirt on your BDUs.

Where will this go?
Well, we are a Mutual Assistance Group. We assist. Which means you might be stuck somewhere and need a jump, or you might need a post-$HTF armed retreat with escort. It is a good place to learn and get some exposure to a wide range of topics that would be extraordinarily difficult to do on your own. You can build it as you like. I suppose a few people I might take all the way with me. That will take a while. Patience, grasshopper.

What do I do next?
Well, mull it over. If you are local. If you have maybe something to contribute, and a desire to learn. If it is something you might enjoy, but can treat with some seriousness, dive right in. Put a reply here with your email. Or a temp email. I will respond. You can also PM me on the forum. Even if you find this post 6 months later, and surely I have forgotten about it. How do you think I found this site?

Bonus Round
I am specifically looking for someone with experience in the following: communications, piloting, TIG welding, masonry, tactics, electrical engineering, machining, mechanic/vehicular.

I am currently interested in joining or helping to start a preppers mutual assistance group in central N.D.  Currently their is a group that is forming and it is just starting out and quite small.  Speaking for myself I like people from all over the country, and the world for that matter, as I am sure most in the group do, but if you are not currently in N.D., or very near the border,  this would probably not be the best group for you.  If you are planning on moving to N.D. great, but it’s hard to meet and make a lot of plans until AFTER you have arrived and found a place to stay.  I don’t think we want the wanna-be Rambo types either.  In my opinion this group would be looking for people who are like minded, want to be prepared for as many potential problems as possible, have some skills or assets to contribute to the group, and can practice good opsec.

A little info about myself.  I am a married man, early 40′s.  I spent 4 years in the army airborne infantry (11C1P).  I have 8 years experience in law enforcement as well.  I grew up hunting, and camping, and loved shooting and learned how to reload when I was young also.  My wife is in her late 30′s, and she has a lot of medical training.  Our 4 children range in age from 8-15.

I myself currently have a BOL in central N.D. (less than 1/2 tank of gas drive from my home), that is approx. 4 1/2 acres with a well (there is also a small portion of a larger pond jutting into my property). There is a large quonset hut with a cement floor that’s in pretty good shape, and a few other small wooden buildings.  It also has several grain bins that I usually rent out.  I would like to take most of the buildings down, except the quonset, and a couple grain bins maybe. It is surrounded by farmland, there are some shelter belts in the distance as well, and the closest town about 1/2 mile a way is VERY small, less than 100 residents, who are mostly farmers and their families.   It is fairly flat, but I would still like to do a little landscape to it and plant what would basically be a large garden.  I would like to keep the small pond area with the cattails, as it attracts ducks and geese, also deer like to occasionally like to bed down in the cattails.  I would also like to get some bee hives and maybe a greenhouse on it.  I was also thinking about perhaps planting the perimeter with some trees and bushes to help keep wind out and make a bit more shelter for pheasants and grouse.  This is unfortunately something that isn’t going very fast since I still have 4 kids in school with activities all year long not to mention a 90 mile drive 1 way just to get there.  Anybody in the central N.D. area interested in putting in some labor in helping me get it fixed up as a fully proper BOL, would certainly earn a fair amount of the fruits of that labor, and in a SHTF scenario, the quonset hut could house several people, especially if it was to get some interior design makeovers before hand.  Anyone serious about joining the group or helping feel free to PM me, or join the Central N.D. Mutual Support Group site.  http://www.ndmsg.webs.com

Thanks.

Hi, my husband and I live in Perry Co, TN and are looking for other like minded people to talk to and share ideas with.  We’ve only been prepping a few months, but I’m couponer and have got a pretty good stock of food.  We also are waiting to sign the paperwork for 5, mostly level, acres and are building a non-hybrid seed stock.  If anybody is interested, contact us on here or at thisisme3824(@)hotmail.com.  Look forward to hearing from you.

Hello! I am seeking like minded people in the Dayton ohio area, maybe a little farther. We havnt much time left, so finding a prep group i think is PART of prepping! Only having 2 or 3 people wont keep you safe from groups of theives, or worse. We have knowledge of firearms and trust me, we are not afraid to use them :) I wont mention all that we do to prep, but if we had a group, we could blend our protection, supplies, ideas, plan B locations (we plan on staying IN if at all possible, but you always need a plan B location to go to) We have a few ideas but it never ever hurts to have more minds thinking. We are experianced with a majority of skills to help us get by. Please email me, i can give you my number and we can set something up. A GROUP is not a dictatorship, we arent battling over power, so we ALL would need to work together, trust each other, and SURVIVE. If the GROUP decides on having a leader, it must be agreed upon by ALL members, i dont want anyone emailing me that is full of testosterone lol. my email is hvidaltwelve [at] gmail [dot] com. SERIOUS inquiries ONLY, we HAVE to get organized! thank you so much!

I totaly agree with meeting people close to you, see what there doing and what not. But everyone believes what they want to believe. But people need to meet on this site from all over. Comment on peoples posts talk to each other. Because in this day and age with all the travel we do for fun and work, we never know where we will be when anything happens. So knowing more people like us only helps all of us in the long run. Thats my thoughts!!

I would like to join in any local (NW Indiana~Jasper County Area) group and any local/long distance network that understands networking and the importance it plays in any emergency or disaster management situation. I have a lot of resources (meat, vegetables, transportation(tractors/trailers), warehousing, etc.). I can contribute my resources, knowledge, and abilities. I am a 42-year-old male and a very hard-worker that believes in doing it right the first time! I have been prepping for about 2 years and currently taking a BA in Emergency & Disaster Management, wilderness survival training courses, weapons training, hand-to-hand combat training and over all studying how to’s for being ready.  I have no religious affiliation and open to most any group except hardcore militia that is planning to overthrow any government, or any lazy group that wants people to do everything for them while they reap the benefits of the work. As you may or may not be able to tell, I am an honest straightforward type person (not mean or hurtful; just honest) that is dependable and loyal.

If you have questions or need more information please email me at the address below or PM (private message) me here on this site.

Thanks, Christopher (Agent769)

Ranch in South Eastern Montana (high desert) is looking for a live-in Ranch Foreman. Your job is to watch over the place and tend to the livestock when I am gone. You will be on your own several months each year. The chores here will only take an hour or so each day that I am absent. You will need to count the cows ( one day a week every week ) and every day that I am gone it will range from a few to over 100. You will also need to deal with trespassers. The other days that I am here you don’t need to do anything. This is a trade or barter arrangement. You get a 10 acre lot to use for your own desires and for RV parking.

The property is off-grid there is no power.

There is no sewer or water hookups.

You need to have your own RV.

You need to be able to fend for yourself. There is no pay, so you will need to have your own form of income.

You do NOT need ranch experience.

This could be a very long term situation for the right person.

You will need to be a person of good morals. (I will check your background).

Hey guys. Looking to buy about 40 acres in CO middle of next year. Haven’t had a chance to go out and put boots on the deck and check out the lots. At this point just checking out possibilities online.

Question is what area (or county) do you recommend in CO with relatively mild winters and decent year-round rainfall? Isolation is important.
