Long-time Lancaster County residents have always prided themselves on self-reliance, freedom, personal responsibility, and living close to the land.  We’ve had an influx of libtards from Philly and its suburbs who want to live a more idyllic life (but immediately start to whine and complain that we need to have more regulations to make the place like the one they just left), but we still have a large population of “Prepper-types”.  Many of us have been preppers all our lives, we just didn’t know there was a name for it.  Most of us either grew up on or near farming, and some of us still do.

We have a nice sized group in Lancaster County.  Many families.  Almost all are conservative (leaning Libertarian), Christian (and a few Jews), gun owners, who love their freedom, their families, and who are very nervous about the future whether it be natural disasters, economic disasters, government disasters, or terrorist actions.  We get together, sometimes as a whole group, often in smaller groups, and exchange information, expertise, and ideas.  We often buy in bulk together. learn skills together, and plan how we can mutually assist each other in the event of an emergency.

Sometime in the middle of April we will be attending (and some are presenting) a 3 hour seminar in Lancaster on radio communications (Ham, CB, MURS).  Probably will be a Saturday morning.  I believe the cost will be about $15 per person.  If you’re interested, let me know and I will forward details as they become available.

If you’re looking to connect with a group, or find out more about us, let me know.  If you’re setting up “waypoints” on a bug-out route, we can provide safe places to stay/camp.  While we will exercise Christian charity if we are able, don’t count on us for food.  We will help fellow preppers as we are able if we know them in advance and feel comfortable with them.  If you’re some sort of Nazi, or a ‘Take Down the Government’ type, or want us to all abide by your religious beliefs, or are some wayfaring hipster-dufus singing ‘Kumbayah’, …..pass on by.  We’re not compatible.  If you think the Freemasons are ruling the world or wear a tin-foil hat because the Bilderburg Triumvirate Rosicrucians are shooting photon beams at your head, …..pass on by.  If you are a Soldier-of-Fortune I-never-served-in-the-military-but-I’m-a-killer type who wears camo everyday, … somebody else.

If you’re ex-military, or current military, or LEO, ….God bless you, and welcome.  If you’re elderly, have a disability, or have a family member that fits in to that group ……welcome.  We have a wide range of professions like small business owners, auto technicians, welders, a blacksmith, lawyers, doctors,  tow truck drivers, computer eggheads (although somewhat surprisingly,  they are excellent shooters for some reason),  secretaries, painters, plumbers, nurses, housewives, mothers, and grandmothers.

I hope to hear from some of you.

new to this site, not to prepping.  been prepping for over a year. started with the family of 4 for 300 dollars prep. moved on from there.  food, weapons, ammo, adding skills.  these are what i fit in around my Philly sports i watch.

so i have  wife and child. also got father and mother aunt and uncle into prepping and shooting.we are sustainable for 13 people for about 3 months. and plenty of water with nearby creek.  looking to expand my preps by adding more sustainable means of living, IE  green house with heirloom seeds, already have a garden we jar and pickle.  id love to meet other like minded individuals in the area.

have allot of ideas, and i copy down and read allot of resources. also love 299 days novels and holding their own series, so if you just wanna talk about the books and little tips that com from them im all ears.  i also have amassed a nice little firearms collection so if you wanna talk guns i can do that as well, as James Yeager and patriot nurse say beans, bullets and band aides.

Looking for anyone that can help me find preppers in my area. I am looking for smart, serious preppers. I am a former scout that has started prepping a short time ago. Me and my wife are both outdoors types and have some knowledge of survival techniques. I am very good with firearms and scrounging.

My wife and I have been prepping for about 3 years. We don’t claim to know about some impending apocalypse or anything. We generically prep for a lot of scenarios which include civil unrest, loss of employment, and natural disasters. We live on a farmette outside State College PA. Its a perfect bug out location, so needless to say we plan to bug in for most scenarios even though we each have our own bug out bags. My role is security and all things construction. My wife’s role is sustenance and medical. We are not truly homesteaders but we come close in lots of ways. Between fainting goats, chickens, two gun competitions, and all sorts of gardening there is always something awesome going on at our farm. We are interested in meeting like minded individuals that share our prepping passion with goals being to share ideas and information about topics such as food storage, recipes, medical knowledge, tactical training, building, animal care, etc… Another goal, although I dont know how attainable it will be, is to form a prepping team. Strength in numbers with everyone having skill sets that make the group more like a community with the ability to help each other in times of need.

Hi. I’m in northern allegheny county and would like to network with likeminded people. I’m in the medical field, have wilderness nav and surviver skills, and some combat training. Ive been learning and “prepping” for a few years. Living in suburbia may not be optimal in a crisis situation from a defense and homesteading standpoint. Therefore, in addition to networking, I am interested in seeking a bug out location, particularly one that has self-sufficiency advantages, is defendable, and can suitable for a small community. It takes a village.

If anyone has similar ideas, and perhaps would like to start a small group, please contact me.

P.S. I’m a mom.

Feb 232014

My family and I are looking for a decent trek of land along with other like-minded people to build a solid working small community/farm. We have many skills to bring to the table. We have experience in various things from gardening and raising livestock to sewing and basic repairs. We also have seeds and livestock to help get things going. I know it sounds rather odd for someone to jump into a group of strangers and propose something to this extent but I feel a great deal of urgency and I’d like to get things moving so we can start building cob houses, yurts, small houses, shelter for the animals and community bunkers as soon as spring allows. I know it sounds like a tall order but considering something of this scale is not possible with just one person or even family.

It is important to mention that what I am proposing involves everyone who participates would actually get their own land, linked to the “main farm” that all would benefit from. While we would all have general shared area, we would also have our own private solitary space too.

Dec 242013

Hi, my family and i live in western PA on 6 acres and are looking for others who feel the urgency and awareness for the upcoming events. The first week of January we will start building, we will be building earth domes underground like a bee hive so that each family will have their own dome with several exit points and a community area. A dome for a family of four only cost $1K, we are not asking for any money or fees, only that you help with the construction of the earth domes, which is easy enough, any money you do have we would ask that you put towards your own dome, supplies for your family, and if you are able, supplies for the community. We are not planning on being underground for one month or two, more like a minimum of one year to two years. No standing structures will exist and those that are will be targeted. small groups may work for a short time but there would always be larger groups or more violent people, there is safety in numbers so our community will be a large one. There would be no one leader, we will all always do what is best for the community. If you are interested or have questions or advice you would like to offer you can email me  gourmetsupreme at yahoo dot com

In addition here is a link to videos that also help explain the choices i am making and may help some in there own preparations of survival and help enlighten others to the events taking place and about to. Thank you and God bless.

Nov 192013

Hi, I am writing this post with trepidation.   I believe there are many of us (preppers) in my area, just like everywhere in the world.  I am interested like all of us in learning more about preps.  I hope in my area there are hundreds of like-minded folks wondering the same thing, am I ready or do I think I am ready?

I am confused on how to proceed, my philosophy is prep for my family first and foremost, to help my close friends who do not belive  “it will happen”, my neighbors who are decent folks.  My closest family know we prep, however they really don’t know how much I have.

I have both a plan to bug in and bug out.

I think we preppers at all levels can share if we chose to,  this may be something like better canning technic to I have way too many 55 gallon water containers do ya want to barter.

Call me paranoid but I want to share but in secret if you know what I am saying?

I think if we put our heads together we might come up with a plan that I feel comfortable with.  So post away.  I kinda feel this will help every prepper across this great nation of ours.

I am new to this site and new(ish) to the prepper community though I have been ‘preparing’ since I was young. I Currently live in the Harrisburg, PA area and are looking to network with like minded individuals in my area.
I do not currently have the financial capability that would allow me to store as much as I would like to. I do have an extensive “bug” bag and other gear and plan to expand.

I have years of outdoor experience and training through the BSA and a BS in Geosciences. My Degree in geosciences has allowed me to research on natural disasters such as Earthquakes, Super volcanoes, cosmic threats, etc. I would love to answer any questions people have regarding these topics and establish an open dialog.

Please feel free to e-mail me at: dbissotatgmaildotcom or message me right here.

I have tried emailing several people I have found in these forums and sadly only heard from one person who was of immense of help. If you are looking for a group please contact me asap so we cant get this ball rolling. More valuable than all the preps in the world is a diverse group that can work together. We can pull our resources and knowledge together to better prepare for anything this life throws at us.. I am in Salem county and want to find like minded people in the southern region. Contact me directly at improvinghealth [at] gmail dot com

We are Christians, two people looking to share our land. We have 6 acres, located at least 60 miles from large population and 75 miles from any nuclear facility. Ground water, excellent, soil virgin, small cabin available. Has electric, but needs to be completed, bathroom, kitchen, etc.  Needs well, septic and alternative heat source, (wood cooking stove or outdoor wood furnace), has duct work installed for outdoor furnace. Estimated amount to complete is $40,000 plus or minus, depending on your skills and how much you care to modify.

Not looking to have a large group, so as not to be scrutinized. Have many tools for building, growing, mechanical and an indoor green house. Have knowledge of alternative medicines, water storage and purification, alternative energy (water for fuel, hho), diesel engine to convert for generating elect. Would like to get off the grid and become totally self-sufficient. Have more to add. Email at pwinstonster(at)gmail(dot)com. Looking to make contacts in northern central WV to trade ideas. We are currently looking for land in a community that has resources and skills. We don’t feel we need to live in a compound with other preppers but would like to be close to like-minded individuals. Need help narrowing down which county might be best in terms of access to water, population, county politics ( Agenda 21 influence vs property rights of owners), geography,  etc.

Sep 122013

Hi all.

My wife and I have only been prepping for about 6 years (you can guess what started it) but we have managed to get somewhat ready for whatever may come.

Now we would like to reach out to see if there are any preppers in the HarrisburgPA area that would like to connect.

We live in a small suburb and do not have a lot of land and resources but are stocking up on food, water, ammo and medicine. We have a generator and a lot of gas for it. We have sufficient resources to last about 3-6 months if we conserve but are planning to double that in the next few months.

If you would like to get together and share stories and advice (if you have been doing this for a long time YOU will be giving most of the advice) please contact me.

May 042013

Hi again. After reading about many things on this website and through the links people have provided, I am compelled to rethink some of my own ideas. So I wanted to also revise my intro post.

I am a navy vet, 49 years old and kind of a Jill of all trades.  I have a background in electronics and an engineering degree. I have collected my BOB and am teaching myself to do more practical things like canning, wild food id, herbal remedies, basic farm animal care, and permaculture (challenging for a complete novice, so have a lot to learn). I am looking for land and potential neighbors in the region of VA, WV, PA, TN and KY.

The idea of a community is great, but I am seeing from this site that it would be very difficult to achieve (not to mention the time and risk involved). Maybe the solution is to have each family/person buy their own land close to each other (same general area) and agree to barter with,  and learn from each other. You would not even have to reveal your exact location, and could meet in town or other neutral place to trade materials and skills.  As trust builds everyone can (at their own pace) could get more involved with each other,  and there would be several BOLs to go to if your’s is compromised. It could start by someone who has their own land already and feels confident about their general area’s suitability could recommend an area for others to look for a place.  Btw, when I say land, I mean cheap land!  Any thoughts?

Hi All,

I am a 49-year-old female Navy Vet.  Have felt something coming for 20 years and have been researching since. In the last 6 months, I have had an increasing sense of urgency. I hope to find some like-minded, practical, folks to talk with. After the Boston “shutdown” my urgency went ballistic! My credit is not good, but my salary is okay…looking for land now. If you are of similar thought process (and are not looking for a very religious person), please contact me. A perfect situation, to me, would be a large tract of land…everyone would own their own part, with a common section…I am looking at smaller versions I could handle myself, but know that alone it could be much more difficult to thrive. After much research, I am looking in WV, NC, TN, KY, VA. I really loved AR, but is too far away.  I was really glad to find this site, and look forward to talking with you all!! I have been very interested in finding a group of like- minded people, who are preparing themselves to survive after a major event or social breakdown. I’m a novice prepper, living in Westmoreland coutny, i’m learning more and more everyday. If you have any information on groups, or any survival suggestions for me such as food, shelter, bugout readiness, or any other tips, please share.

Thank you
