Hi again. After reading about many things on this website and through the links people have provided, I am compelled to rethink some of my own ideas. So I wanted to also revise my intro post.

I am a navy vet, 49 years old and kind of a Jill of all trades.  I have a background in electronics and an engineering degree. I have collected my BOB and am teaching myself to do more practical things like canning, wild food id, herbal remedies, basic farm animal care, and permaculture (challenging for a complete novice, so have a lot to learn). I am looking for land and potential neighbors in the region of VA, WV, PA, TN and KY.

The idea of a community is great, but I am seeing from this site that it would be very difficult to achieve (not to mention the time and risk involved). Maybe the solution is to have each family/person buy their own land close to each other (same general area) and agree to barter with,  and learn from each other. You would not even have to reveal your exact location, and could meet in town or other neutral place to trade materials and skills.  As trust builds everyone can (at their own pace) could get more involved with each other,  and there would be several BOLs to go to if your’s is compromised. It could start by someone who has their own land already and feels confident about their general area’s suitability could recommend an area for others to look for a place.  Btw, when I say land, I mean cheap land!  Any thoughts?

Hi All,

I am a 49-year-old female Navy Vet.  Have felt something coming for 20 years and have been researching since. In the last 6 months, I have had an increasing sense of urgency. I hope to find some like-minded, practical, folks to talk with. After the Boston “shutdown” my urgency went ballistic! My credit is not good, but my salary is okay…looking for land now. If you are of similar thought process (and are not looking for a very religious person), please contact me. A perfect situation, to me, would be a large tract of land…everyone would own their own part, with a common section…I am looking at smaller versions I could handle myself, but know that alone it could be much more difficult to thrive. After much research, I am looking in WV, NC, TN, KY, VA. I really loved AR, but is too far away.  I was really glad to find this site, and look forward to talking with you all!!  chrismeier77_at_gmail.com (chrismeier77 [at] gmail [dot] com)

We are a group, mostly family, located in Raleigh County east of Beckley who have been prepping for several years.

We have fifty acres of semi-secluded wooded property surrounded by thousands of acres of timberland. Our neighbors are all farm/ranch families who have lived here for generations and keep to themselves.

We are looking to connect with like minded people in the area who are serious about prepping and would be interested in establishing a support network. Our primary concern is to provide a safe environment for our children/grandchildren.

We are well stocked with food, medical supplies, weapons etc with several good water wells and a creek running year round so need nothing from anybody. Just looking to connect and share information.

PREPARED PERSONS of WV.

I would like to take this time to explain some important aspects of our group:
1. Our mission statement is to bring like-minded people together with the purpose of organizing in order to be ready for, and help each other in times of crisis for the purposes of ensuring our family’s protection, security and safety.
2. We are by no means an armed citizen’s militia, nor are we in any way affiliated with any militia… foreign or domestic.
3. Our agenda does not in any way conflict with any Local, State or Federal government’s laws. We are supporters of our nation and adhere to it’s laws and authority!
4. We do not commit, take part in, condone nor encourage any illegal activities.
5. We do relate to and encourage the principles of our U.S. Constitution, and it’s study in order to be a more knowledgeable, responsible and dutiful U.S. citizen.
6.We do recognize the current administration’s negative path which is leading us toward an uncertain future regarding financial hardships. And we acknowledge the disregard for our nation’s security leaving our families vulnerable. And natural disasters are more common than ever with even less resources to aide in our recovery. Therefore we do seek out one another for the purposes of learning and sharing the necessary skills to ensure our family’s wellbeing.
7. And we desire to build a network of persons to be able to rely on in times of crisis, so as to better our safety in numbers and combined resources together.
If this sounds like the characteristics of a group that you would like to become a part of then we would be interested in speaking further with you.

Sincerely,

I am new to prepping, however I was raised old school. I know how to farm, can, and raise animals. I am a single mom of 3 grown kids and 4 grand children. I have a good knowledge of prepping. I have only been doing this a short time. I would love to hear from others and hear their ideas as well.  I have 3 ac of land, I garden and can each year. I need to expand the garden. I raise chickens and will be starting rabbits this spring.  I really want to get to know other preppers like me.  I think the fellowship and getting together with others and explore each others ideas, we will be able to help each other. I can teach canning, gardening. My son hunts, traps and we all fish. If you would be interested in getting together, please e-mail me.  karengardner62 [at] gmail [dot] com  I look forward to hearing from you.

Hello all!

Former US Army vet, 11B – too smart to look around and not read the writing on the walls. Looking for land owner needing someone with military background. Also been taking training recently in preparedness topics including medicine in austere / denied areas.

I am in Alexandria, but have a pre 80′s 4×4, no computers, that will take me anywhere in VA, PA, WV with my current stores of gas, so the specific location of the group is less important.

Thanks!

Jim

Looking for a group, preferably in western Va or west Virginia. I’m well stocked with food ammo and guns (love my .308) I’m looking for a group or someone who’s got enough land, I have some great and cheap ideas for shelters that unless you know they’re there you won’t see them.

About me, I was an auto mechanic and worked on some heavy equipment, got tired of that and became a substation technician, got hit with 480 and decided to change professions and became a bio med, so now I work on computers. There’s nothing I can’t do or figure out, I can weld and fix hydraulics to repair computers. My wife is a Nurse at Portsmouth Naval and has skills to benefit a group also.

Hello:

WV prepper here from Kanawha county area in search of others who may be interested in forming small group either virtually or physically to assist each other as we hope for the best and prepare for the worst. Have a security/medical background and been in public safety arena for many years.

If you’ve been into becoming a serious prepper, then you realize it’s
a critical matter of time left for preparation. Whether it’s economic
collapse, global warming or the rising numbers of cataclysms across
the world, a pole shift, post pole shift —– going it alone reduces
your and your loved ones’ survival odds dramatically. The smart
decision would be no delay joining a survival community with like
minded individuals.
Hopefully, you have one in mind or looking into one by now.

Ark Mountain Adventure Camp (AMAC) is a comprehensively sustainable
preparatory micro community. We certainly recognize the signs of the
times. We are not affiliated with any religious or political groups.

We respect personal beliefs and celebrate the individualism that makes
a harmonious team/neighbor/partner…family member.

AMAC is preparing for everything, not just one event.

We are looking for core ‘Service-to-Other’ individuals who are
community-minded loyal and relentlessly committed to working together
as a team. No drama. Embracing regard/respect for the individual
boundaries of each/all fellow AMAC community
team/neighbor/partner/family members.

Basically, there are two types of members:
The first type: Investors living at AMAC full time, actively part of the
community while cabins/community is built/developed.
The second: Investors with professions, or other location
commitments/constraints. They can still join without living at AMAC,
initially. They can maintain their situations while residents get the
prepping done. Their cabins will be built and ready when needed.
Although they should really try to make
intermittent visits.

Investors’/members’ funds go toward building their specifically
designed earthquake-proof/wind-resistant cabins, expenses for
necessary supplies/food, energy system solar/hydro upgrades and water
system upgrades. All funding is open and accounted for to all members
for efficient appropriation. It is truly team involvement. No less.

AMAC has a kitchen/dining area TeePee (huge conical structure) for all
meals, congregation for
music jams and various activities. Food is cooked and served twice a
day. Of course, there is snacking. Ark mountain has pressured water
hot showers, the Internet and Dish Satellite. There is development on
an animal barn for fresh eggs/milk and stocked ponds for fresh fish.
Deer and turkey running wild. Fresh drinkable water springs are
located around the mountain. Wild edible mushrooms, berries, nuts and
fruit trees are sprinkled everywhere. Key things/protocol are being
strived for, which are necessary for a daily thriving sustainable
community.

For serious inquiries/questions, don’t hesitate to write or call. 304-688-0213

Hello everyone.

I’m part of a group of four families looking to join our group with another group of like-minded individuals and families to become a group with. We are looking specifically in the state of West Virginia in any of these counties:

Nicholas (preferred), Webster, Fayette, Pocahontas (southern), or Greenbrier. We would also consider Monroe and Summers.

About our group:

1. We’re all related by blood or marriage (but not both at the same time lol – no inbreeding, just wasn’t sure how else to describe us). We are currently located in three different states (Florida, Texas, and Pennsylvania). We’re all Christians, some being more “spiritual” than others. :)  We’re looking for compatible preppers/survivalists, not people to convert.  Three of us are from the Tampa Bay area, four are in the Jacksonville area, three others are in Western PA, and my oldest son hails from TX. If it hits the fan, our groups would try and meet up at our BOL.

2. There are 8 or 9 adults (depending on if our oldest son from Texas would make it to us. He’s active-duty Army.)
3. There are 2 “children” – my daughter (16) and my niece (almost 18).
4. Our group’s skills & makeup:

  • 3 prior-service military (survival, defense, and communications knowledge and training) & two active duty Army/Army Nat Guard. Can all shoot straight.
  • My oldest son (21 y/o) active-duty Army (survival, defense, and communications knowledge and training) – also Eagle Scout.
  • My wife (50′s) – Retired Army. Girl Scout leader, recently “retired” Boy Scout leader, Woodbadge graduate. Sews, many outdoor skills, great with kids,  Sunday school teacher type. Hard worker, fluent in Spanish. Sharpshooter skill with 9mm pistol.
  • My other son – (18 y/o) College student (computer programming) (and Eagle Scout)
  • My daughter (16 y/o) – High-school Junior – Girl Scout Ambassador Rank (similar to Eagle for the Boy Scouts), drives.
  • My brother (25 y/o) – Army National Guard (survival, defense, and communications knowledge and training) – currently an assistant manager at a restaurant)
  • My sister-in law – College student. Works at a sub sandwich place. Fluent in Spanish.
  • Step-dad (30′s) – Full time auto mechanic (understands and can repair vehicular/mechanical items).
  • My mom – (50′s) – Call center rep (billing, tech support, etc for a TV company) – Cooks, cleans, old-school country girl.
  • Myself (39 y/o)- Full time Senior I.T. person. (for a 12-state, 26-locations hospital) (understands and uses technology) – yeah, that’s me. How’d you know? :)– Into natural gardening – currently have a section of yard converted to a productive garden, light carpentry, light plumbing, light electrical (all of the home owner basic skills). Replaced hot water heater, fixed leaky pipes in attic, ran network and electrical through the house, built an organized closet from the ground up, etc. Can change my own oil.
  • My Sister (37 y/o) Special Needs Teacher (autistic children)
  • My niece (17 y/o) – College-bound senior high-school student (took 4 years of Spanish and is fluent now). Drives.

I think that about covers it. Most of us were brought up “country”, working a garden, preparing food from a garden, hunting, fishing, etc. We all have common sense and manners. Not looking to tread on anyone, rather we would like to be a part of a community of like-minded individuals. We’re 11 coming into a group (4 separate families), and that’s a pretty big number on it’s own, but we’re a strong group that just doesn’t have a good place to set up camp at. Most of us have camping gear and some food saved up. Supplies like first aid kits, water purifiers, fire starters, mess kits, heirloom seeds, weapons and ammo, etc are what we would be bringing in. We’ve got enough food to cover our immediate group and would look to gardening/hunting/fishing to cover the rest.

Like I said, we’re looking for a group that might be looking for more members. If you already have a place to bug out to, that would be awesome. If not, we can look together for a place if we find that we are compatible. If we can find common ground and compliment or add to each other’s skills and personalities, that is what we are looking for. Like-minded people who can keep calm while the rest of civilization is falling apart. A group whose members have each other’s back, and works well together as part of a community.

Personally, I think things will happen sooner rather than later, so time is of the essence. The reason we choose the areas we did are because of the possibility of a pole shift in addition to civil unrest and food shortages, etc. It looks like most of the east coast is toast in the case of a pole shift. Just g  Please send me a message here or post back with your email address and I’ll reply to you.

Good Day Everyone,

I am an experienced Prepper that has established two separate retreat situations.    I am looking to form a new partnership with an individual/family/group that has OR is looking to establish an agriculturally self-sufficient remote farm that could benefit from intelligent, honest, industrious, Christian partners who are well-prepared with ample provisions, skills and training to be an asset to any group in an economic collapse.

Our Group:

Adults:   3 – Small Business Owner/ Entrepreneur(42),   PhD Psychologist (42),  Grandmother (71),

Children: Two Boys 10 & 8

Preps: 10+ month supply of storable food (Dehyrated, Freeze Dried, and Bulk Grains in Superpails), Water Filtration, non-hybrid seeds, defensive firearms, spare parts, ammunition, camping gear, canning jars, clothing, medical supplies, farming and gardening implements, hoop house, 150 cc 75mpg scooter, books, gold & silver in small denominations of recognizable hallmarks, etc.  24 ft fifth wheel camping trailer

Concerns: Grid-down economic collapse due to hyper-inflation/ collapse of the actuarially unstable $USD and/or the current global debt-based financial system

OR  : Long great depression that leads to increased crime and social unrest in urban areas.

Ideal Situation: Relatively hidden agriculturally self-sufficient remote farm at least one tank of gas away from Washington, DC  (We are currently located in Northern Virginia and would bug-out in the case of a collapse.

Potential Retreat:  We know of a potential retreat property outside of Roanoke. Single family home that could support our group and another couple with 1-2 children.  The property is on a private road at the end of another private road in a mostly agriculturally self-sufficient community.  We can’t afford the property ourselves at this time but could partner with the right couple looking to create a retreat situation from scratch.

Survival Philosophy: James Rawls’ Patriots and the Survival Retreat Operations Manual
