Hi all, I am new to this site, glad to find it.  My friend and I are building a Christian campground, retreat down here.  It is in the country, close to fishing, shooting range, archery range, and rivers.  Lots of Deer, wild Turkeys, Rabbits and others.

  1. Hello Scrappy,
How many acres is your retreat? Is is strictly for ministry purposes or are you looking to start a community of fellow believers with a disaster preparedness mindset. I was curious because the post is a little vague. I am a former youth pastor and K-9 Search and rescue officer. My wife and I are temporarily staying w/ my in-laws in Indiana in the Wabash Valley IE very close to the state line. We moved here from SC. We are looking for like minded folks to get with. If you would like to talk with me contact me by email or my cell. I look forward to talking to you soon.

    • Sorry, I guess I was not too specific. We are looking at a 30 acre plot, to build a place for Christian survivalist to go to if the time comes to get away from it all. We are hoping to put in a lake, up to 5 acres. And eventually make it self supporting. We just need to see how many people are interested in leasing a place to get away to.

      • Hi scrappy,
As I mentioned before my wife and I have not settled down yet. We are still looking for a place to rent. We are going back to SC to get the rest of our things over thanksgiving. How much would you be asking for rent/ to lease? I was wondering if you considered security for your retreat? One thing I didn’t mention before is that I served as a Police officer in NC years ago. I would be willing to assist in that specialized area as well. It is great to find a fellow brother in Christ willing to do this! Needless to say I am interested in your plans! We have been prepping for around 3 years now. How far into Illinois are you? I would like to get further details from you. There are specific questions I would like to ask you. But I realize that posting details on here is not prudent. If you would like we can talk talk via email… again my email is hereistand2000 [at] yahoo [dot] com I look forward to your response.

        I Christ, Thomas
