Now looking for nurse/doctor and their family offcourse. The house you would be living in is big enough for two adults and two children. One doctor could be hired but not payed as he would if working in a hospital, so two would be good so there can allways be one on the island.

We have a dentist who is with us when hes not in his private practice on the mailand, a psychologist and even a foot-care specialist. As you read on you will understand that most of these individuals have jobs on the mainland also.

Everybody here does multiple things but to mention some of the more important perks of living here

We have a chef, summers are bbq-time almost every night (if weather permits) and all year round fridays and saturdays those who are willing to help the chef and him get together and cook something amazing or funny or just good He also makes lunch for whoever is on the island during the day and the kids at the nursery/kindergarten.

Nursing home/kindergarden for the little ones. This is pretty collective and parents take turns in working there. One trained “Nanny” works there year around, the kids love her.

A teacher who is pretty allround in all basic subjects. She works with 9-graders normally but at two occations when kids (or adults) couldn’t reach the mainland because of storms she called teachers and walked the kids through their homework and was a great help.

Farming; Offcourse, for those of you into farming, you will love this. 3 working horses and a handfull of primitive-farming enthusiasts and two veterans have ensured we are 100% self sufficient on potatoes, carrots and most seasonal vegetables.

Livestock: 14 goats, 40 sheep, 20 pigs and alot of rabbits. Alot. We tried having them fenced but now we hunt them off instead.

Hunting: Mentioned rabbits, birds and three of us go hunting on the mainland a couple of times a year. If you are into hunting, you are welcome to come. One moose gives alot of meat!

Fishing: We a couple of times a week. we got a ton of cod, herring and flounder-fish each trip in the beginning so we have cut down on the nets used. We have three people working on this.

Internet access via 3G and 4G, cellphones work fine (most operators). Power is somewhat restricted but there is power. If you absolutely need to have a big TV running 12 hours/day, this lifestyle propably isn’t for you anyway Theres a big freezer in the “restaurant/bar” were you can borrow a shelf if need be, refrigurators in all houses.

We are an somewhat large prepper collective on a small island off the Swedish coast started in 2009. The idea was to build a selfsufficient community and to stay safe from an ever expanding world.

We have solarpower, windpower, wood for heating, farming for foods and fishing as our main resources during crisis. Boats go daily to the mainland for school and work and some shopping or just socializing. We have a helicopter pilot allthough we dont have a helicopter as of now.

As individuals, we go and shop for clothes, food and whatever we want offcourse.

As of now most of us have jobs on the mainland besides a few who are hired by us for special purposes, these are:

One full time handyman/fire-safety/electrician.

One Nanny/chefs hand

One chef/storyteller at the kindergarten (Who also happens to brew some of the best beers and wines ever!)

Two farmers/fishermen

The fee for all of this is today 10% of a paycheck every month and your skill.

We do not do religion of any kind as a group. There is no and will never be any churches or temples or anything similar on the island.

My name is Rob and i guess you could call me a prepper but to me it goes far beyond just something that i do,it’s something that has literally modified my dna in the process.the entire universe to me is nothing but a series of disasters and during great disasters like the 6th great extinction we are currently witnessing,what you could call heros emerge.those that go beyond all limits to succeed.I live in a very bad situation to which there is no rational escape due to financial limitations and basically im looking for a community to join or some place where i can live around people that i would consider to be better than the “sane”.I have done nothing but prepare for the future for the past 7+ years in mostly total isolation.i am a larger than life kind of creature and i want to help people but im as indifferent towards mammals as they are towards me.if there is some place where people are seriously preparing as a group to survive the future i would like to contribute my views and efforts.

What my family has to offer:

• We have basic gardening experience, mostly dealing with vegetables (tomatoes and peppers)
• I have a good working knowledge of raising animals. (I have raised chickens, rabbits, goats, and dogs, as well as bottle raised a sheep. I have worked with horses and ponies, though it has been a while.)
• I can cook
• make lots of different crafts
• working computer knowledge of the internet
• my husband has a class a license and can drive a tractor easily
• my father is a mechanic and can give members gun shooting lessons (ex military man)
• my husband and I both can hunt
• I can skin and gut most anything, and can descale and clean a fish
• my husband and I both can fish. I can make cane poles out of fresh cane found locally.
