Hello, First time poster. I am looking for someone (ideally) within an hour walk of the Madison/Fitchburg border (by the Home Depot on Midvale/Verona road) to bug out with to get outside the city and surrounding burbs. Would love to car convoy if gas is available, or head out on foot if need be. Here goes my attempt at selling myself… eagle scout, phd student(science), Gardner, wild food forager, hobby wood worker, newly licensed ham, mid 20′s and I work out every day (P90X, run/bike into work daily), Christian (reformed), married w/kid on way. PM me if interested. Not interested in staying in Madison (especially my neighbourhood…) in SHTF scenario.

I cannot move as I am attending grad school at the UW. Do your plans have you leaving to somewhere else further out than 80 miles North of Madison? If you are staying put I would be interested in coming to you. My wife is due w/ kid, so long treks are not an option. If taking on a pregger or tot is not what you are looking for I understand.
I think I could help you since I have a friend on the east side of Madison that is part of my group, in a shtf senario getting out of the city is very important and we have 2 places to go.

Also, to any Madisonians out there, the wild lotus plants in university bay are currently bursting with ripe seeds. I find them delicious and easy to collect.
I may be some help, I live in Middleton and It is my Girlfriends and my plan to leave the Madison area if something were to come about that we feel is a danger to our survival, i am an avid outdoorsman and have seriously started prepping in the past couple of years, message me back if you would like to talk more on the matter.
