Looking to network and possibly pool resources to get a few acres of good dirt.  My skill set includes growing and preservation of  food.

  1. So where in Seymour are you? I used to live there and am looking to come back. How long have you been there? ttyl Robbie

  2. Hi Robbie!

I found a Church in Seymour that actually believes in the Constitution and is not afraid to say what needs said from the pulpit. The pastor has written a book on our monetary system “Fool’s Gold: How the Traditions of Men Have Replaced God’s Honest Money”

I am in Marshfield right now but think that I would like to live close to these like minded people.

Where are you living? If you have any contacts for land there let me know and I will go and check it out.

    • oh i forgot one of the most valuable assets in the area, that is Bakers seed company, (pioneer village) Ed

      • There is a much better seed house in the area BTW.

      • We bought land/farm around 30 min from Seymour- TX cnty. I have been a prepper for 20 yrs. Starting with always being prepared in advance in winter time, since where we lived at the time, our electric would go out at least 3 times a winter. We had 4 kids to keep warm and fed. So when the ice or snow or fallen trees took out the electric, there would be families show up at our house knowing I was prepared. Amazing when people laugh at being prepared, but then know where to go when they have an emergency.
Not wanting my refuge to be in upstate NY anymore, I searched for 3 yrs for a better location. Wanted a great grow zone, land, water, low taxes, etc. We purchased in ’07 but we were not able to move full time until this last Aug. We love it here, love the people, and also so glad to have this preppergroup to meet others in the surrounding area.
Love the Baker Seed/Pioneer village. Been collecting seeds from there. But, heard they don’t always produce.
@tittiger: where is the better seed house, would like to know/visit.
Would love to hear back from anyone in the surrounding areas.

        • Hi 1HotPrepper!

I can’t blame you a bit for leaving the peoples republic of NY. I lived there as a kid so I never had to pay the taxes. I loved the winters near Buffalo growing up. Great weather for ice skating and skiing.

Baker creek seed has it’s problems I would look elsewhere except for things that only BC has such as zuchino rapicanti, or their Indian cucumber that is disease resistant. Check out Morgan County seed and plan to go there in person and make a day of it.

The people here in MO for the most part are the salt of the earth. After 2 years of looking I have found where I want to be and am in the process of getting settled in. Keep in touch. Email me and we can chat some more.

          Be blessed
          Joe
