Hi there, I am getting ready to move to the vernal area next month, and, I am looking for info on the area. I am coming from maryland( super nanny state). Just wondering about any groups, gun or hiking camping clubs. I am pretty knowledgable about east coast wilderness survival, but olny know what I have read about the desert areas. My family and I are looking to this move as a chance to live off of the grid. Any info will be appreciated. thanks in advance

I live in Vernal. I am very new to prepping but learning things everyday and working toward my goals a little bit at a time. I don’t know of any groups but like I said I’m very new myself. Let’s just say that 4 months ago I was blind as a bat and I now see the light. I will keep my eyes and ears open. I would think that one of the best ways of finding out about any of those clubs is by talking to the rod and gun club up in Maeser. I will look into it though. And the Utah Militia is based right here in the Uintah Basin. I know that they usually do a few things a year.
