Dear All,
I’m a new prepper……………….have got six months supply for all I need to survive on my own. However, I’m sure I don’t know it all any simple advice would be appreciated.

  1. I would think by now there is plenty of advise in all the forums. Next posting you would do better sharing more about what you are prepping for and capable of providing for yourself with no grid, no help and no re-supply… all winter, spring, summer and fall. Then your location? Six months is a good start ;-)

Welcome and keep buying balanced food.

  2. Sorry… I missed the England thing. Which then places you on an island. Then in or nearby a huge city as London is mentioned on the right hand column? I am sure by now you have figured out that being near people in large numbers in a crisis is not a good idea. Only you know best what your options are as per your location.

Good Luck and hopefully you will meet other preppers in your location.

  3. Yes, living on an island a bad thing. We have 70million living in an area not much bigger than New Hampshire!!!!!!!!! It works out if you spread us out equally as 900 or so a square mile!!!! We have no forests, deserts or baron lands. The furthest you can get away from a large city is probably 50miles!!!!!!!

I know where I’m going I have three places planned and just hope (mean thought) that the population starves to death before they spread out to where I will be!!!!!

Were just too crowded………..but I will be in with a chance as no one, I repeat no one prepares for anything. I’d say only 1 or two people per 10,000 have prepared for anything. London in one years uses the full food production of the whole of England in one year alone. If the country had to become self sufficent for the entire population then there is only enough food to go round (assuming the food could be spread around which it will not) for six weeks. Yet, NO ONE PREPARES!!! and those that do are deemed MAD :-)

  4. Your aware and that is good.

  5. Hello tinkeytonk,
I am new to the prepper scene myself, but I will be happy to help you any way I can. Also, I would like to establish contact with someone like yourself on the other side of the Atlantic. Feel free to contact me at lone_gunnmann (at) yahoo (dot) com

Take care and God bless! I hope to hear from you soon!

  6. Dear ThaddeusD,

Thanks for the kind email…………….I do however find your email address, though honored that you gave me it, a little strange (from an English perspective) its not the type of name we would use; people would see us as a dangerous type if I was to use such an email address ( I’m sure it could be a cultural difference between our two cultures)? Please dont be offended?

On the subject of prepping I think in the US you are light years ahead of us over here and we have some major disadvantages that you don’t have in the US. First, none of us or very few of us have any weapons at all (the only people who have weapons are the police, armed forces & bad people). Second, we can not access any type of prescription medicine with which to build up our own stockpile. Third, taking a peek at my previous posts, there is nowhere to hide!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! when TSHTF. On the other side of that absolutely no one is prepared for when the SHTF so the casualties will be horrendous and happen quickly so perhaps it may not be to big a problem having anywhere to hide!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My bug out location is 65 miles from a city of 2 million and I am about as far away as possible as you can get from large populations in England but everyone could get here on 10 percent of a tank of petrol!!!!!!!!!!!!! They wont though as they all, yes all, believe everything the press/government tells them!!!!!!

Anyhow, hope my start to the message has not insulted you but I am cautious of who I am dealing with on the internet. Perhaps you could tell me more of yourself or if you have a website or something?

    Regards
    Tinkertytonk

  7. Sorry for not getting back to you sooner. I rarely check this website. I am in an somewhat similar position as you. I live within the Washington D.C. metro area. Recent events have proved to me that this area is not prepared for any crisis. When it rains, snows, or when it is windy…there are power outages. When we had the earthquake a couple of months ago, I could not reach my wife who works in D.C. Also, the population density here on the east coast is too much for it to be self-sustaining. That is why I have plans to bug-out to the Midwest where I come from.

I am a member of a prepping group here in Virginia. Feel free to check out our website: http://slbclub.webs.com We have it organized in a military fashion. If you have been in the military, you would quickly recognize how we are built. I am in charge of communication and I have been reaching out to other individuals and other prepper groups. Networking is the key to success today like it always has been.

My hand remains extended to you. I wish to establish contact with people like yourself and offer my help any way I can.

    • “Sorry for not getting back to you” …. “I rarely check this website” ….. “I am in charge of communication”
