I’m looking for a group of preppers in the NW AR, SW MO, SE OK area that are making plans just in case and have a go to place if and when we have an economic collapse. I’m a 31 year old single mom with certain skills that would come in handy for a group who put their little community as a priority instead of being a militant force, although that is important it’s not the only factors for surviving happily. My skills are teaching children. I have a degree in p-4 ed and am currently working full time on my degree in middle level literacy and social sciences. My job is working one on one with kids working on cognitive retraining to improve their ease of learning and mental sharpness.
My brain is crammed full of knowledge on how to educate children. I have taught my kids how our current lifestyles of consumerism and made for the dump society has created greed, un-sustainable living, mountains of waste and dependency on the system. I’ve taught them the history behind it and how the process started and has led to the world we live in today. Children need to understand the flaws and why it happened because they are the future and the ones who will be left with our legacy. They have to learn from our mistakes so this cycle doesn’t repeat and have to be taught how to fix it. I believe in progress and innovation but believe there is a right way to accomplish it.
I have gotten ready by learning to grow certain foods, stockpiling, having a BOB, and cramming as much knowledge in my head as possible. This summer we are starting a meat rabbit production project to provide us with all our meat needs, pet food needs, and crop fertilizer needs. This will be easily transportable in an emergency. I’m excited about it and think that if I have to stay here I will be able to keep my food source fairly well hidden and locked away from intruders. I’ve planted tons of grapes around the house years ago and this is the first real harvest year. This summer we will be learning to make and can jelly and make wine for barter. I’m very mentally tough and have already been in survival mode since I got divorced 4 years ago. I am strong enough to handle just about anything life throws my way and I have an “I am capable” attitude.” I know the solutions to change our society but realize that society is too lazy to change. I do understand that a single woman and children living in the city have a slim chance against the desperate and starving hordes that will come with economic collapse so I’m looking for a group who will see my intellegence and skill as an educator valuable. I hope to find a group who has a secure location and more than a field out in the country and who’s members are contributing by doing small things to prep their site.
Hello, I too am looking for group or singles looking for place in central Missouri, somewhere around Columbia, or Moberly area, originally from that general area and aquainted with it, anyone let me know, I’m a botantist by degree and work with plants all of my life and farmiliar with production and harvesting, fertilizing. Have just started prepping so not too far along, but working on it,,,

Hello, We live in Spain but thinking about moving either to Mo. or North Carolina. There is some property there that we can buy. I just happened on this site and your posting and was pleased to see so many people with similar ideas.
At this moment we just wanted to make contact and let you know that we are here and will soon be returning to the U.S. to help take care of my elderly mother and get ourselves organized. We will be starting from scratch when we return and we will be in a hurry to set ourselves for the future.

Well it’s been quite a learning experience this last 9 months. Just to give you an update. We acquired our rabbits and learned just about everything we could on how to raise them, butcher, clean, dress, and cook them. I’ve been continuing to work hard on my education degree and have 2 semesters left until I graduate with my second degree in teaching. As things heat up my mind has pretty much gone into desperate mode. I am convinced that I need to get out to a remote area and have seriously been looking at some land for sale deep in the woods in South Central Missouri where I’d like to build a straw bale house and break the cycle of dependency and slavery on the system as well as give my kids a shot at the future. I am pretty sure that oil will run out in my lifetime, probably sooner than I think and not having gasoline will be the least of our problems seeing as how the soil in the US is ruined and wont grow food without the fossil fuel based fertilizer they throw on it. The lack of forests and abundance of factory farms covering just about every inch of the US is shocking when viewed from google earth. I can envision the hordes of starving people so I want to get back to basics and become completely self sufficient well before that happens as it is a learning experience that could take years.
My main concern at this point is that as a lone wolf prepper I have a high level of risk being a single mom. I have no security. Everyone I know has not the desire nor time to become aware of what is happening in this world. They are content in their ignorance to go about daily life acquiring useless junk because that is what our society has been brain washed to do. Even preppers don’t realize how dangerous it will be because a bad guy is more likely to shoot you from the bushes without you ever seeing him when you are going out to tend your homestead. My main concern now is establishing or joining a group or a few families for security purposes. I don’t want to be in a group that is too big because it’s too hard to maintain and sometimes becomes a more communist style community. My whole reason for doing this is to live free and be prepared for what is coming at the same time.
Hi, we are a family of 4 looking to reach out to the Prepper community here in NW Missouri. I am 30 and my husband is 45. Our son and daughter will be 5 and 8 in July. We live in St. Joseph and do what we can to prepare for any hard times.
