Getting prepared, above anything, is a state of mind. As humans we subconsciously know that something is going on here, and most of us are aware of the current state of the economy, and the imminent collapse of the FIAT money supply we use around the world. Those who are new to this, should read The Creature from Jeckyll Island, a book about the federal reserve. It’s a shocking start.
But this…is… about more than that. Any conscious prepper is well aware that you cannot prepare for what you cannot see, you can only try and cover what you can afford and make simple modifications to your way of living to increase your chances of making it through a disaster.

Katrina and others have shown us that even a local event can create havoc and people go crazy. Having defense is staying at home. If you have to go out looking for something for your family to eat, it might be too late already.
My reason for coming here is to find folks who are serious about preparedness, and they are in no short supply around this forum :)
I have basic preparations, but any local “guru” prepper who has some extra ideas or supplies, I would love to chat. I am hardworking, intelligent, a great carpenter. I am ready to build or rebuild whatever I need to secure my family. I have contacts local with a farm, animals, water supply and hunting available. I started a page on facebook called “Pacific NW Preppers co-op” and hope to attract those who are unaware. I care about my friends and community, and want to see it survive whatever comes. Anyone who has an idea of how I can get on the right track with local folks I would be obliged.
Thank you-
Carpo

Hi,

I’m new to prepping, but I’d love to join a mutual support / bugout group. I have a young family. I’m not religious, but am respectful of others beliefs.

I teach martial arts, and have instructed bodyguards, military, federal and local police in hand to hand. I have some firearms experience but am looking for more training.

I have a background in business and technology which could be helpful in preparation.

Hello-I too am very concerned about the current realities and future problems in this great land. My goal is to meet other like-minded people (within about a 100 mile radius of Portland) and combine our education, skills and resources to prepare for the worst, while hoping for the best. The purchase of acerage is a goal for me in the next 6 months to a year. (I have done that before in Idaho so this is not new).
I want to build a team based on the fine, logical and realistic models of James Rawles‘ works. “Patriots” spells-out things really well in my opinion.

Before getting into my background, I wish to state that I am not interested in extreme views, politics, race-bashing and the like. It’s nice to see that so many other posts declare similar thoughts and feelings. It matters.

My background: SWM, 44, healthy, non-smoker, B.A. in Radio Broadcasting/Production, former law enforcement/P.O.S.T. certified, (5 years as a park ranger in Colorado), currently in security management, 1st aid/CPR, licensed amateur radio operator, kayaker, dirt bike owner/rider, equipped and trained in survival gear, 4×4 and camper owner, student of prep./surv. issues since high school during 3 years of JROTC, collector of prep./surv. books and avid reader, year-round camper, intermediate martial artist, novice tracker, lots of target shooting exp., wilderness leadership training, downhill/xcntry. skier, swimmer, solid drummer (sorry, I had to include that), good people skills (I think).
I would like to learn about welding, blacksmithing, carpentry, and gardening. It’s important for me to learn something worthwhile everyday.
Like everyone, I have strengths and weaknesses. My disposition is mellow and friendly, but I can handle stressful moments too.

Someday, I hope to find the right woman who is interested in building a happy and prosperous future (so there is another goal to add to my wish list).

Shall we open a discussion? Shall we talk about the future?

Best wishes to you all.

God bless The U.S.A.!
