Hello Everybody, this is my second post so I’ll give a little more information about myself but make sure you read my yesterdays post.  I am a combat veteran and so are at least two others in my group of 33 members.  I also have been to military SERE school (survival, evasion, resistance & escape).  I am retired, married, have two son’s in the 40′s.  I’m still possibly looking for up to 7  additional individuals to share my BOL.  If you have certain talent’s, equipment or whatever and are maybe interested contact me at ldrider [at] bellsouth [dot] net.  Good Luck to all you preppers.

  3. Hello, first time user on this site and admittingly I am not computer litterate so couldn’t find you’re first post. I’m 35 servered 7.5 years in the Army, Airborne, Demo Ranger, CLS …. quallified deployed a few times and during my deployments I was blown up more than a few times but the last one took me out the game so I have been retired for 5 years now. Have a wife and 5 year old daughter and have no idea on how to keep them safe other than grabbing the old M-4 out the closet, which I have no problem with but one man can only control his flanks until the ediots decide to organize. Just looking for some advice not expecting open arms but would love to get a visual on what I need to start with on a limited Uncle Sam sallary

    • i may be a novice myself but your basics are food water and shelter. first off food you may be thinking of buying something like mres or mountain house food preps. but if you have to prep on the cheap side i have discovered that walmart sells sealed packets of soup and one box which contains 22 packets can feed a person breakfast lunch and dinner for a week and at a descent price and amount of food. also to replenish your food prep you may wish to start a garden as well as raise small animals my choice is chickens and rabbits. turning to hydration you’ll need adequate water saved for you and your loved ones a years worth of food and water is the necessary amount you will also need a way to get more water and a purification system. i recommend getting a rain catcher system as well as knowing where the nearest pond or lake is so if you have to bug out you know where to set up shop. as for shelter i prefer to bug in but that’s just me bugging out or in you’ll need adequate security to protect yourself i am planning on create a small bunker as well as a home made from shipping containers. but if you choose to bug out make sure to have at least 2 bug out locals and at least 2 alternate routes to said locals but when bugging in make sure you have weapons present anywhere around your home. such as under the kitchen counter by the bed in the couch side stand etc. and a way to seal yourself off from the outside world if need be like a bunker or something at least for a few days. well those are the basics whatever you choose is up to you also if you are bugging out i fear emps so make sure your bug out vehicle is shielded ok :)

  5. 31 Married no kids, army grunt … 10 years security experience, familiar with multiple firearms platforms, expert marksman all 4 years in military.. For work …Serve in a role currently armed with constant trainings and range time. I would say I have an above average chance at survival due to past and current trainings, self taught survival through literature, videos, classes. First aid and combat life saving experience, mentally tough. Wife works in vetinary field as nurse, has experience in surgery, sutures, Iv’s, blood, pathogens, drug dosage and pharm. I have been working with her at the range every other week and she is a better shot than most… I’d like to call her a natural.

  6. Sir;

    I am responding to your post on Preppers.com site.

    I am reluctant even at arms length to respond because as we all know, once our communications are in cyberspace, they can be monitored and traced.

    I’m not looking for skull and crossed bones or daggers and dragons mentality. I’m interested in long-term survival not wholesale bravado.

    That being said, I would like to find a group of rational like minded individuals to discuss options to the conventional “dependent” lifestyle and develop additional related skill sets to pass on to my grandson and his future family as I think that at our age (I’m 60), we have less to worry about than our descendants.

    I have an Entrepreneurial/Management (Pres CEO) background. I have plenty of hardware. I am a very experience hunter, and I have good outdoor living skills. My primitive skills could be improved. I would also like to join a group with some military training on compass azimuth class, camp security, troop hand signal, how to guard camp at night, long term firearms storage and related self preservation and evasion training.

    I own property in SW MO Ozarks. It would be a great place to meet and advance individual and group skills. There are no restrictions on shooting firearms there so tactical course and team exercises of that type of instruction would also be an option.

    I’d like to know more about your group.

    Please email me if you feel like we share enough common ground to warrant a chat.

    Regards,

    Duke

  7. Hi. Anyone in St. Pete? It would be nice to put a group together for networking, ideas, tips etc.
    Anyone interested? I think I’ll create a group in “Meetup(dot)com.” as well.
    Im not sure how this site works yet. Message me if youre interested.

  8. Hello Folk’s. The offer I posted on April 28,2012 is still open. I’ve had several responses but only accepted one offer to join my group. If your in the medical field that will be a big plus for you and your small family if you have one. You will not find a better BOL or group than mine. You must be Christian and not have a criminal record. Contact me at ldrider [at] bellsouth [dot] net if interested.

  9. I’m in the Pinellas area… born in New Smyrna Beach and I’ve grown up my whole life here in St Pete (except for my 6 years spent at Bible College in SW Missouri) Anyway, I’m open to discussions with people… though I like to get to know people adequately before agreeing to meeting up or anything like that. My first priority is the security of my wife and my other family members here in the area, as none of them (outside of my wife and myself) are into survival or getting things in order. It’s because of this that I am always on guard, so please do not take offense at my communication.
