Permaculture: the development of agricultural ecosystems intended to be sustainable and self-sufficient.

Prepper: a person who believes a catastrophic disaster or emergency is likely to occur in the future and makes active preparations for it, typically by stockpiling food, ammunition, and other supplies.

I believe in a marriage of the prepper and permaculture mindsets. The prepper is incomplete without a way to rebuild, and the permaculturist will never succeed without even the most basic prepper security.

As such, my personal goal is to continue learning permaculture in my spare time, as I prepare myself and my household.

I’m looking for like minded folks in the Pacific North West, who wouldn’t mind meeting over a coffee, sharing goals, and cooking up a mutual plan for land and shared talent.

We are professional wilderness survivalist that are offering access to 22 acres and survival training to a select few in order to expand our prepper group.

If you have specific skills that can be useful in maintaining an off-grid community  in the Union SC area and can actively participate in training, we would like to hear from you.

Not many preppers have the skills to go into the woods and live off the land for weeks.  They are more focused on food stockpile and gear.  You can have all the gear in the world but it doesn’t matter unless you know what to do with it.

In return for your contributions to the group by work, material or monthly funds we offer the following to those chosen:

Permission to stay in our community should a catastrophe happen

Monthly, weekend training, events held every month where you will learn:

  • Wilderness Survival – Philosophy, Fundamentals, Emergency Shelter – Fire – Water – Food – Rescue
  • Primitive Earth Skills – Native Ancestral Skills, Natural Shelters, Friction Fire, Cordage, and Containers, Tools
  • Nature Awareness – Woodland Sensory Development, Stewardship, Rewilding, Nature Immersion
  • First Aid & Hygiene – Security, First Aid, Self Aid, Rescue, Hygiene
  • Tracker Hunter Gatherer – Track Identification, Tracking, Animal Habits and Habitats, Primitive Hunting and Trapping Techniques, Tanning, Butchering
  • Navigation – Map and Compass, No Compass Navigation, Pace Counting, Terrain Association
  • Ecology and Botany – Plant, Tree, Rock, and Animal Study – Edible and Medicinal Plants

If you are interested in more than being with a group that will get together and hide in a catastrophe then contact us to see if we are a fit.

Hi all,
new to prepping and would really appreciate some tips or advice about it. Most of you are experienced on this topic some are as new to prepping as I am. Live near the hills and am enjoying prepping very much. I make YouTube videos based upon preparedness in the 21st century and got some new gear to trial as well.
Any comments love to hear them,
Cheers Aussie Bushman

I’m sorry If I am not posting in the correct place, I just joined the site and its the closest place I have found to what I am in search of.

I am looking for a group, a family, interested in living off the land and being self sufficient. I am willing to travel and am okay with a group that possibly travels around. I never wanted to live the stereotypical cookie cutter lifestyle. I’m honestly utterly miserable from living my life the way everyone else expects me to. I want to live for myself and this is the only way I have ever been truly happy with my life. I know there are others like me and I am hoping to possibly meet you through this site. I am still preparing (have been for about three years now) and in no way rushing things. I also feel this would give me more than enough time to find people I am compatible with and ensure that we get along well and have ample time to get to know one another. I also would not mind hearing of others experiences on this subject, it always feels good knowing that I am not alone. 🙂 If you are interested please feel free to reply!

Anyone live near Parma, Ohio? If so do you have an idea of where you would go if you had to bug out? I’ve been tying to come up with the best direction to head, keeping in mind there may be hundreds or even thousands of people trying to get out too. I think I would try to get as far south as I could. Lot’s of wooded land in southern Ohio. Any feedback or ideas will be much appreciated.

Hello, we are located 2 hours north of Spokane. Originally from Seattle, moved here years ago to get away from the heavy population. We are looking for another family or individuals to join together with us in the event of a crisis.

We have housing infrastructure in place , gardens, orchard, chickens, off-grid power, defensive positions and back up water sources. We would also be interested in hearing from other groups that are out there.

Also those in Idaho or Montana feel free to reply but please only if you live or are willing to move to within roughly 75 miles of Newport WA.

If you are interested you can email us at [email protected]l.com

Thanks

Edit – 22 Nov 2016:

I would like to add a few things for those thinking of contacting us. We don’t meet in person right away, only after learning more about each other first through emails. We also don’t give out our exact location until after we have met.

Our members our expected to have at least a year supply of food and other supplies or be willing to obtain years worth within 3 months of joining.

If you would like to contact us we prefer if you use an encrypted email address such as Protonmail or Hushmail.

I have been in the Clarksville Tennessee area for about one year. I have looked a few times for like minded folks in this area to form a group, to share knowledge and skills and socialize with. It appears that there have been a few people try to start groups but they never seem to go anywhere. Maybe the best way to start a group is to start small and expand as you go. I have a fairly broad knowledge base, but there a number of area I would like to become much more proficient. If anyone is interested please let me know.

My family and I are relatively new to this, and have been prepping for a little over 2 years now.  As part of this we moved to SE Idaho, only to find the area is not typical prepper territory.  Finding like-minded people has been difficult.  Although we have been able to rouse a few people out of their sleep, none are ready for a commitment to a preparedness community.  We are seeking a group to join instead of starting our own.  Everything I have read is clear that we need to make our requirements known up front.  Here is what we are looking for, or what we stand for:

  • Patriot.  We love the Constitution, and support law enforcement and the military when they perform their legal functions.
  • Christian.  Many groups we have seen here are “just respect each other and we will be okay”.  We don’t believe that works long term.  It works fine for people not having to interact with each other every day.  It doesn’t work for people in close proximity all the time, where their worldview will probably conflict on issues that affect everyone personally.  While it would work prior to an event, after an event, when you have daily working relationships under possibly difficult conditions, it becomes a natural fracture point for a community.
  • Democratic in nature, but with a strong leader.  Decision making is up to the community, BUT when something happens and a decision needs to be made yesterday, there needs to be a leader in place to make a decision and can deal with the pressure brought by other leaders, but still hold a group together.  No dictatorships, just strength.
  • Everyone has a life until TEOTWAWKI.  I have had good interactions with a group in northern Idaho, but their demands are quite stringent, enough so that it affects life in the current normal.  Every group has demands and should.  The demands must be reasonable, although we agree that if events point to a need for more activity, demands should increase.
  • The group must be organized.  There are many groups without bylaws or realistic preparedness expectations, exactly the opposite of the last point made.  At a minimum, we would expect to have requirements for gear, food storage, retreat planning, acceptance of new members both before and after an event, list of specialties/skills for group members to have or pursue, and group operations after an event.  There are others that are important, but you get the idea.
  • A TEOTWAWKI mindset.  We do not believe that preparing for an extended weather or natural disaster emergency is enough.  To use a pop culture reference, if you aren’t preparing for the zombie apocalypse, you are not preparing.  Of course there are levels of preparedness to go through to reach that point, but the end goal for our family is complete group sufficiency.
  • Acceptance of young children.  There are some groups that will not accept families with young kids.  We have two, both under 11 years old.
  • We are willing to move at some point in the future, but it is not in the plans at this time.

About us:

  • All in good health without medical needs.  I am in my mid 40’s and my wife is in her mid 30’s.  I have had several accidents over the years requiring surgery, but in no way does it limit my ability to contribute physically to the group.
  • I am a minister and an engineer.  BA in Computer Science.  Former military (only 2 years), artillery attached to a light infantry division, but no combat experience.  I have experience in the medical field as a CNA and am working on becoming proficient in long term survival medicine.
  • My wife is a homemaker, home school teacher, and is learning about basic natural medicine, such as essential oils and remedies for common ailments without the use of modern medication.  Formerly a pharmacy technician.
  • Currently ready for a one year emergency from a food and basic gear standpoint.

looking forward to hearing from you all.

I am fairly new to prepping and looking for a like minded community in the vicinity of Wheaton/Warrenville IL.  That said, I have already built up a reasonable amount of food and water stores among other things.  My disposition to prepping is for insurance purposes.  However, success is strength in numbers to include skills and resources.

I have myriad of skills to offer a community with the right fit to include weapons, security, logistics, etc.  Looking for a seriously organized community (no fanatics please) to join and share ideas/planning strategies.  My family is small with a wife and rambunctious five year old boy.  If interested in knowing more about what I can bring to your prepping community, please reach out.

God bless America!

I am interested in starting a Homesteading & Money Saving & Sustainable Living & Preparedness Group that would meet once per month in Mineral & Hampshire Counties of West Virginia and Garrett & Allegany Counties of Maryland.

This will NOT be set up as a MAG but more of a learning and sharing group. However MAG’s may form from this group.

I envision that each meeting would have a different topic or project.

Each meeting would be held in a nuteral location and the cost would be $5.00 for the meal plus any materials cost for those that decide to NOT bring their own materials.

I would love to have this group up and the first meeting in late March 2017

If you are interested please contact me at siobhanthomson01 at yahoo.com

Hi everyone,

I’m a new member but have been prepping for about 2 years. Currently living in a suburb outside of Atlanta but looking to move an hour or so outside the city. Currently looking in the Jefferson, Athens, Watkinsville, Commerce, Winterville, Madison area.

Would like to connect with fellow preppers, to meet you, possibly create or join an existing group.

Please understand the need for caution/discretion. I don’t know you, you don’t know me but I’m certain we’re going to need all the friends we can get when the SHTF.

I have much to offer (We can discuss that later), I’m currently interested in alternative energy (primarily solar), HAM radio/Long distance emergency communications, farming/cultivating, and OPSEC. Well armed but need real world training on home and perimeter defense.

These things are the things I’m focused on but regardless of your skill set, I would like to connect. EVERYONE has something to offer.

Again, OPSEC is the key for me, I don’t care if you can skin a buck with a pocket comb, if you can’t keep things confidential, please move along.

Thanks, I look forward to meeting others who see the obvious writing on the wall. For the moment we’re “Fanatics”, soon we’ll be Geniuses.

I am, for the 1st time in my life, genuinely concerned that there will be upheaval after this election and would like to get with other like minded folks to prepare for the inevitable.  I am located in South Central MN and would like to make contact with the right people to start prepping groups around here. I’m a combat vet, 7 tours between Iraq, Kuwait and Afghanistan, who is law abiding but knows in every fiber of my being that we must prepare for the worst. I have talked with family members who were ultimately against “prepping” but now I have about 50% of those I talked to on board. Now I Just need to get all who want to be involved trained to standard. Anyone out there agree with me? If so get in touch with me.

Hello Ladies and Gents

I would like to thank so many people from this site for all the contacts and conversations we ,My son and I received we have been offline and off grid for a while. With time and a little patience this site has gained us a friend who we teamed up with and a group that we three are now members of and we all live together in our own places. We my son and I have been in groups for long term stays as we have said before in our other post [ Get us if you can ]… We do not know what happened but we were not able to get into our post or back on the site with our old profile. But we are back and we ask each of our friends who have contacted us to get back in touch you know who you are lol…As I was saying it is hard to wade through so many people and groups and find the real deals as most of us very well know, however after many months of looking for the right people and so many contacts even friends,, we made a choice and we could not be more happy with the real and down to earth people we have found.. For op sec reasons I will not be giving a list of we got this and we got that …

Now if you are looking for a group to bond with to become friends and maybe extended family we may be what you are looking for .. If you are real, , honest,,  true to yourself and others you may fit..  we are not a religious group we have many people with many different points of view and we respect each other and each others points of view…  We are open to all good people contact us by e mail if we like what we see and hear we will move to phone person to person talks and get to know each other.. we love ex mil alpha dogs and those who have a prepping and security mindset..  If you have skillsets you bring to the table and you wish for safety in likeminded numbers we may be your kind of crazy lol

If you want to review my emergency medical credentials/ training/ experience, see my profile. It speaks for itself. I have been preparing for SHTF for over 6 years and have a beautiful 3.5 y/o daughter who I Love more than life itself. She’s the only reason I’m still here in Columbus and not already in Alaska- considering what I now know, maybe that’s for the best. I am seeking to connect with a group of brothers and sisters who are awake and have made provisions for what’s coming. I have plenty to offer in terms of skill sets and personality. I’ve never put myself out like this, but frankly there is barely any time left now, and I have to make a move if I want my daughter to have a chance of making it thru the shitstorm coming rapidly down the pipe. If you are serious about hoping for a future, care about preserving as much of your humanity as will be possible (I am a realist) and have been preparing- please feel free to contact me. I am not a religious man, but I talk to the Creator everyday and , for better or worse, I am a sheepdog at heart. I’m glad I found this site. Good luck to you all. I hope to one day see you on the other side. Thanks

Hey my name is Tom and my wife and I live in Lewisville just outside of Winston-Salem. I have been prepping for many years and have what I think to be all of the basics.

I have food stores I have unlimited water with a deep well and a hand pump, I have a pond, chickens and I’m beginning to raise rabbits. I live in a rural area and have a sufficient garden each year and I am putting solar panels up to be able to run a refrigerator freezer in case of a loss of power. I’ve got a wood-burning stove with a lot of oak trees and cords cords of wood ready to go.The blower will also be on solar. I only have 3 acres and it’s just my wife and I.

My problem is I have some concerns on how to defend it myself should SHTF. If you’re interested in contributing to the homestead, email me and perhaps we can discuss options. winstom1 at aol dot com

Hello everyone,

I’m looking for a group we can connect with mid-peninsula, San Mateo area. I’m recently from Colorado and had extensive gear and resources back there; but it’s a whole new game out here. Strong faith in God but also a strong faith in training my mind and body to serve my will. Recently completed a CERT course which reinforced FEMA are just a bunch of morons using outdated gear and swimming in paperwork.

It appears that most people are waiting for the outcome of the s-election. Regardless, whoever gets in, we are still going to experience an unprecedented upheaval. 30 years of research and studying have taught me one thing; forget most of what you’ve learned from so-called “survival experts”. Under normal conditions, their advice is accurate and right on point. But when it hits the fan this time, it will be entirely different circumstances. Scriptures will confirm that fact. Increase the odds of your surviving by hearing us out before making the final decision of where, what, why and how.
