Yes Virginia, there is a Santa Claus and there are preppers in New York.

We just have to stay under the radar a bit and blend in with our neighbors.

NY is not all NYC, far from it.

We are located both in the NYC metro area (NYC, Long Island, NJ, CT) and in very rural Central NYS adjacent to 5,000,000 acres of the “Forever Wild” Adirondack Park.

Always happy to chat and see where it goes.

You just never know.

About 9 years ago I made a very dear friend/prepping partner right here on this site.

Looking to do it again.

Hello, just found this site, I see not much traffic here so won’t be surprised if no response. I’m in South central KY (Barren county) not really looking to join a group but sure would be nice to exchange ideas and info with like minded people, looks like we’re few and far between.

Me and my party have been considering a move northward. Washington seems very appealing to us, with the low population rates over most the states. Tons of virgin forest, great game in area, salmon.. A good place to go off-grid before the crap goes down. Looking to talk a little bit about the lands there, help us decide if it is the place for us. solely basic info.

I am some what new to prepping and am looking to meet prepping groups. I am Christian and me family owns farm land in the area. We have stored some food and also made water and lighting arrangements. My father is a retired sheet metal worker and a farmer by trade. I have trained horses and cattle in my youth. I have learning gardening skills and my mother knows how to cook on a wood burning cook stove. We all know how to build a fire in doors and out since we have using wood burning hearing stove most of our lives. We also have camping gear. If their are like minded prepped people in our area we would like to get to know them.

Things are looking more and more unstable in the world each day to say the least. Looking for a group in the area that is well organized, trains and has each others backs. Not looking for pretenders or folks that do things half way. I don’t care for anarchists, racist, or tin hats. I was a police officer for 6 1/2 years, an R.N. for 25 years. I have worked construction. I reload.  I am in excellent physical shape. I’m a conservative. What I don’t know I am willing to learn. After all a group is only as good as it’s weakest link.      Hoping for the best, preparing for the worst.

PS. Here is a shout out to Old Food, glad to see you are still around.

Hi everyone.  I’m hismrsfinnegan and I’m new to the group. I used to be better prepared for emergencies but last year I became very I’ll and almost died and some family members decided to go through my preps and help themselves.

So, here I sit with some food, a little bit of water, some emergency supplies left and an empty 72hour kit.  I need to start over.

I’m also a widow living on a limited income with few friends and family hundreds of miles away.

I want to rebuild my preps as quickly as I can but I feel alone in this task.  There may be some funds next year that can help with food and some supplies but I feel like I need to start NOW.

I am planning on water and working on food storage, tp, basics to start.  My main goal is my 72hour kit.  Warm clothes, will socks, etc…

It’s been many years since I started my prepping and to get home after months in the hospital to find things missing is disheartening, but I can’t give up.  I need to do SOMETHING.

Anyone with any advice, it would be greatly welcomed.  My first goal is to make sure none of my neighbors know of my prepping and only 2 family members can be trusted.   (Not even my kids at tjis point). They live 200 miles away and we are working on fixing up my home in case they can get here when SHTF.

Thanks for letting me join the grouo.  I’m sure I’ll have many questions but I want to share as well.

We have 100 acres in Cocke County TN. We are creating a small self sufficient community. We are looking for 6 more families to join us and build permanent homes, each on their own 5 to 15 acre parcel within this 100 acre community. We will also host limited numbers of shelters for part-time and emergency only members. To put it bluntly, we need money and labor to build infrastructure. We do not have a set price or single plan. If we feel you will be a good fit in our community, we will work out a plan that all can agree on.

We already have occupied homes and outbuildings. We have construction equipment. We have workshop space and tools. We have power and water.

We do not have empty homes ready for move-in. We do not have the money to finance home building. We can provide site preparation including excavation and septic installs. We can help with designing and building, just not financing.

We are working on establishing income producing businesses to provide jobs for community members.

We are not particularly religious, and we have no bias against anyone.

We are not militaristic, but we will defend our community. We consider concealment to be the first line of defense, deterrence the second, and overwhelming force the last. We won’t demand anything, but we can help with training and equipment if you want or need it.

We believe in the fundamental principles of the U.S. Constitution. We aren’t interested in dictatorships, theocracies, socialism, communism, etc.

We believe we can produce everything needed in a permanently sustainable way by carefully balanced group members and activities.

We don’t want to do anything illegal.

Hi, I am pretty new to prepping. With the recent threats from the North Korea, I have started a small group. We have started putting away supplies, we have enough right now to feed 5 people for 6 months. We do not have a bunker, but we do have a secret place to go if SHTF. My husband is a mechanic and can fix and weld anything. He also is a handy man, he can build a house from the ground up. I have my bachelors in computer science, a lot of good that will do me if anything does happen but I also have other skills. I am a skilled fighter, I can sew, farm, cook anything from anything. Advanced problem solving skills and I could lead a group effectively. I can think fast and provide solutions that work to keep people alive. I have back up plans to my back up plans. Literally, printed out.

Looking for honest, hardworking people. People that will work together under extreme stress and not turn on each other. People that are loyal, who look to work forward, not backward.  I would like to start a new group so that we may learn and grow/prepare together. Interested, email me @[email protected]

Volusia County, Florida

The Volusia County Prepping Group has been meeting monthly since 2011. We’re a preparedness education group – NOT a “survival group” or “mutual assistance group” or militia or anything like that. If you’re interested in learning and meeting like-minded folks, please check out our web site and join us at a meeting. There are no dues – we pass the jar for donations to rent the building for our meetings. If nothing else, you’ll probably find some good information on our web site.

Welcome to the Volusia County Prepping

Hello everyone my name is Dida

I am a newly surfaced proper I have always known the world was going to go to shit and have always wanted to prepare for it but I never knew prepping was such a thing until I discovered it on TV and then online. Right now I am doing it by myself and slowly because my family doesn’t want anything to do with it they feel it is childish and a waste of money and/or time.

So what I am looking for is I would like to find like-minded people to mentor me and guide me in this rough world. Eventually I would like to create a community in which we all support each other and thrive and survive in the world to come.

My skills are as followed

-I can fish and build a tent and fire from scratch

– I am good at first aid hopefully learning how to do sutures soon

– becoming better at identifying plants and using them medically.

I was in a prepper group a while ago but I had left due to the fact that a lot of the people there we’re putting others down for the lack of knowledge and kind of making them feel stupid. As well as making fun of me because of an illness I have which is cancer so that set me off the deep end and I left without questions asked. I want to find someone or people that don’t judge others for illnesses they have how they look or what they do or don’t know we are all in this together when shit hits the fan and we only to survive and learn together so that’s the kind of people I wish to be around

If you think you can help me in any way feel free to email me at didakingston @ yahoo dot com hope to talk to you soon

Admin Edit: Email the advice, or leave a contact (email as a contact was given above). To share specific tips and suggestions, please use the associated prepper forum, not the main site. Thanks!

I live in the OKC metro area and have been trying for years to connect with other preppers. My husband and I are particularly interested in formalizing our group and networking with other groups. A friend told me about this site. We are prep skill instructors for our new business, Stone Haven LLC. We also just published a book on starting and maintaining a prep group, which we have dubbed a Survival Alliance – available on Amazon. It’s called Survival Alliances and we are on FB under the same name. We are committed to helping folks whether they are just getting started or ready to start an alliance. We truly believe these groups will be places of safety for those who are properly prepared. Message me here or on FB if I can help.

Hello,

My name is Thomas and I have a unique prepper group in Houston, Texas.

A little info on our group, our area our members are in is about a 600sq mile area and we also offer search and rescue services to those members. We have recently opted to allow people to join that don’t live near Houston but wish to be part of our Emergency Deployment Team,”EDT” at the direction of the staff of Gulf Coast Preppers. We are also looking for “EDT” members that own water craft equipment boats jetski to conduct water rescues, or k9 units for missing person trapped in building debris. Each week on Thursday we have a meeting discussing all things emergency preparedness and I will host it if someone isn’t doing so themself. The meeting is held on a 2 way radio application, you must be part of our Facebook page to get access, but we welcome all to join.

Mom, Grandma, and Granddaughter are looking for a prepper group in or around Guthrie, OK. We are new to all of this, having decided that enough was enough and we should probably have some kind of action plan to go on should SHTF. Not quite sure where to start, but we have decided our first priorities are to find a group (as we can’t exactly “Red Dawn” it, as my mother put it), and we need to start stocking up on food and water for what may be the inevitable.

I’m not quite sure what I could advertise as a “skill set” for us. My mother has worked reconning cars for years and is quite handy with most common car issues? I’m a medical biller with minimal actual surgical experience. I guess my post-apocalyptic life skill would be crocheting. Gotta have them blankets, scarfs, hats, stuffed animals etc lol.  Any and all help/tips/guidance would be much appreciated. I see the links on the left hand side of the site for guides and blogs, etc, and will be looking more into them very shortly. Must ask that any and all contact (for the time being) be solely online as privacy is precious these days, as is security and safety. Thank you so much to you who is reading this, drop a message if you can, and have a happy day.

Anyone near us in a prepper group?  We have a lot of time on our hands (retired) and want to step up our preps again.  We’re interested in having contacts we can trust during a SHTF scenario.  We hope we never need it, but it would be great to feel we had help during such a time.

Thanks for reading this. Hope we can meet up.

I have been Prepping for over 20 years, and have heard many scenario’s about what people think will be a safe haven if SHTF. So let me start by telling you this, To survive SHTF your biggest concern should be your family, neighbors, transients, and passer byes. The location you choose should not be in the mountains or 20 miles from the nearest hospital of law enforcement agency.

Now let me explain! If your intent is to fight the government and you think you can fend off an attack from a 10 man assault team of trained and battle ready soldiers! Think again. If you have to face a 10 man assault team, its going to be a bad day for everyone. Your team should be ready to fight only when protecting your family, friends, and your property and food supply. Now saying this the City is no place to be either. If you are in a big city when SHTF, your chances are drastically reduced. What is more secure than a hardened structure built by the government to house and secure people? You got it, I local Jail or Prison that can keep everybody safe when SHTF. If the government is after you, you can’t hide long. So in my opinion a secure Facility in a rural town with low population is the best place to defend your group. and you remain close enough for help and to others to set up bartering for supplies needed.

We have the perfect place to take a last stand. We are looking for individuals that want to join a group that are thinking outside of the box. I get a kick out of people that think they will survive in the woods and hunt their own food. There is a reason the hunter gatherers didn’t survive in the past. Always keep in mind that you will not be the only person in the woods that think the same way you do! Knowing that the hunter became the hunted is not a good feeling when you are trying to get sleep. Feel free to respond and we can talk more about our facility, lets see if we make a good match in prepping for the future. Thanks Tom

Hi All!

We are blessed to live on our North East Texas 50+ acre homestead full-time, to spend every day molding and shaping it’s potential into reality. We are long time preppers, and as a family, we have decided that we would like to offer the opportunity for certain folks to become a part of our community.

We have discussed a few potential options for folks (BOL versus full-time community), and welcome discussion as everyone is at a different place in their life. In addition, we offer the opportunity to build camaraderie, to develop and enhance our sustainability skill-set…to become a community BEFORE an event. This won’t be for everyone – It will require background checks, initial public meetings, time and financial commitments, (not those 10k buy-in things, but if you want to put a building here, etc.)

Mister is a former Marine, law enforcement officer and firearms instructor with 25+yrs of experience. Missus is an IT Professional by day, and homestead supermom by night. College freshman and fifth grader are cheerful farm hands. Extended family includes Army Ranger and Trauma Nurse. Dogs, barn kitty, chickens, ducks…there are always animals! We are a typical Christian family (not a militia) that loves to laugh, hike, watch movies, etc. We work very hard, and we try to play just as hard! We also work to ensure our family and our farm are prepared for any eventuality. You can email us via info [at] txexitstrategy [dot] com or visit that site for more info.

Dear Friends,

There is a “Preppers Paradise” that is up for sale around the corner from me.

I’m not into this for a dime, and don’t know the seller.  The only reason I put this out is that I’d rather some good Prepper Folks buy it, instead of some drunken idiot from Chicago.

I have been to this property – it is a great deal.  Very, very secluded.  This is not for “Prepper Wannabes”.  The people who buy this would have to have their act together.  Yes……we do actually have Winter up here.  If you want warm weather year round, then head down South, and join the crowds (key word: crowds!).  One thing I always tell folks – in tough times, you’re number one advantage up here is LOW POPULATION DENSITY.  Sorry, but the overwhelming majority of humans are idiots, and nor prepared for their next bowel movement.  If 9/10 people are clueless, doesn’t it make sense to be in an area where there are many fewer people?  Check this place out:  http://tinyurl.com/preppermichigan
We have a small farm nearby.  Would love to have some of you fine folks as neighbors.  God Bless!

With all the issues with North Korea lately and other issues such as tornadoes, floods etc. starting to take prepping more seriouslly and would like to connect with others.

Right now just looking to meet other like minded people and learn strategies etc. but maybe eventually join a group. 30 y.o. male with a family. Can offer skills in the architectural / construction field including help with building bunkers, security etc. No criminal background, college educated, but don’t hold it against anyone who is not. Not religious but not irresponsible either. Thanks.
