Starting over for a 3rd time.
Lost everything I had due to situations, involving my grown children & husband. This time I’m needing to relocate just to get distance between us.
My husband isn’t a nice person, especially when drunk.
My children understand that I want to move to the countryside, but believe that I’m better off in the city, because I have never learned to drive.
I am in my early 50s, still having hope for my dreams from childhood to become reality. I don’t have very much preps, also never got the chance to learn skills by doing, which is how I learn best.
I have memories of my brother taking me hunting, cleaning what we caught, showing me how to build a simple shelter, all on our Papaw’s farm in Flaherty, KY. My Dad put me, at the age of 13, in charge of the wood stove while he was at work. He had me & my sisters handle the wood after he chopped it. Dad taught me (although I’m quite rusty now) how to start & maintain the fire. Those, memories were my realities back then.
My fire inside are still burning for the life I’ve been dreaming of.

I have read a lot of people posting here as off the grid and such, but if you own land and are basing your group from there you are not off the grid. Off the grid means having the skills to pack up and go where no one knows where you are. no paper trail from land tax, land purchasing, etc.

Being able to move around quickly and efficiently is a hard skill to learn. Quickly building a shelter for the conditions you are dealing with is more work than most people think. I am ex military, trained in avoiding people. I think people who prepare their prep and store it at their home are none to bright. Martial Law gets declared and you not allowed to drive you are totally bollocked cause you cant tote it around. Looking for a few people who understand this. I have scouted several locations throughout the spring and summer. finding sites where you can get access to clean water is getting more difficult. anyways if anyone has any similar ideas hit me up

Starting prepping, now I’m just gathering items for the potential bad weather that comes our way. Have a generator, water purifier system  ( Katadyn) hand held.

I’m starting to assemble a Go Bag, I already use my EDC when out out. My bag consists of small shovel, ax, basic tools, tarp, plastic ( I use mattress wraps) these are great for sleeping warmth. Many other items that are survival minded.

It is difficult when your wife is not of the same survival thinking, she agrees on prepping , to an extent, she is not a camping person,  Hoilday Inn is her idea of camping.

Any other locals out there who are starting to be prepared, would live to hear from you.

Hello all once again. Under further realization that it very well be the final phases of people accepting new members to join their ranks. Im interested in looking up some owner financed property either north or east of cobb county ga. If a secondary home or community cant get to a chosen location within 45 mins to 1 hour tops driving, using side roads,  there is no reason to attempt to form a legitimate homestead location. If anybody is interested contact me at benteam2020 @ yahoo.com ive tried to reach out to real groups but guess the legit ones went silent. I just hit 30 and know the value of invesment and time. Time in which im not taking for granted. The property doesnt have to have a house on it just the land to build on. Like minded and responsible people are welcomed. Lunatic fringe, and overly exposed people from forums are not…

Do you have the skills to survive???

Communities on Whidbey Island need to come together and make a plan. They’re will  not be emergency help once the crap hits the fan and what I mean by crap is when there is no food or supplies left in the stores on the Island. People that are not prepared for this will be coming to you for help. Are you going to turn them away? So I am looking for like minded people to join in and share their survival peppers skills in case of a natural disaster on Whidbey Island. “BE PREPARED”

What if you were hiking on a trail or camping with some friends and went for a walk when suddenly you don’t know the way back? Do you have enough survival skill to stay put and regroup or maybe survive a night in the woods until you are found or make it back out. “What If” Do you have the skills to survive???

Survival in NY during current times is daunting as it is. Lately I’ve been having a tough time, although making due while watching my income go to pay taxes. I’ve been looking for new work, preferably a caretaker or superintendent position in ME or NH, the state’s my heart belongs. I’m 26 and still just young enough to move around and try to start somewhere fresh. As well as getting in touch with new people to share ideas for sustainable living post grid, if anyone needs my resume I figure I should ask around here. I’m a tractor and heavy equipment operator/tech by trade, but have built barns, poured concrete, installed plumbing and run conduit. I’ve got a resume and references for anyone who is interested.
