Southwestern Oregon Preppers (SWOP) will be holding its monthly meeting at Noon, Saturday, April 22, 2023, at Sawdust Theatre, 120 N Adams St, Coquille, OR 97423.
The main topic is “Preparing For What’s Next”. The events occurring over the past few years have kept us in turmoil. Pandemics, natural disasters, government actions, civil unrest, cetc… have kept us on defense. We will have a round table discussion on what we should expect to happen next and how to prepare for it.
SWOP meetings always start with a question and answer period before the main topic so all in attendance get a chance to participate.
This is a free public meeting to get to know fellow local preppers in southwestern Oregon counties and to exchange information and ideas. It is important for individuals to understand that they will be “on their own” in the event of a disaster and not depend on receiving outside help. Join Southwestern Oregon Preppers on Facebook and/or meetup.com.
The 10th Annual Michigan Preparedness Picnic with our friends at the Genesee Preparedness Group, Great Lakes Self Reliance and 2 Preppernet groups…will be Sunday, August 20th (rain or shine).
Back by popular demand, we will repeat the plant walk again from last year where we identified 50+ edible and medicinal plants, just in nature along the river at the park.

I want to join a prepper group in North Florida/ South Georga area, preferably in or near Columbia or Suwannee county. I live near the intersection of I-10 and I-75 and have enough land to camp on for members traveling to group meetings. I am prior military, a jack of all trades including farming, animal husbandry, herbs & oils, homesteading (old fasioned “women’s work”), carpentry, masonry, weilding, and some mechanics. I want to expand into aquaculture, hydroelectric & perpetual power generation, and become confident in construction of retaining walls and wells.
The April meeting will be held on April 22, 2023, at 11 am. This meeting will be held at a private residence. There will be an overview of HAM radios and procedures as well as programming your radio.
If you are interested in attending, please email me at alway[email protected] for additional information and the location.
Thanks and see you there.
