I was recently with a prepper group. Like minded working on a complete off grid life. Gardens, fields, livestock all brought in. Wells drilled. Construction of buildings for housing, storage and livestock.
What I brought to the group, 15 years combat medicine. An understanding of theoretical physics. Off the grid engineering. A medic is useful but only if you are injured. My knowledge of physics and engineering is what was most beneficial. Understanding how to build fuel cells. Using water to power a combustion engine. Building generators that were self powering, required no fuel once started. A generator powered by gravity (now this one been having output issues, works just not much energy)
Other then basic maintenance and replacing worn parts, everything wears out in time. The generators and fuel cells were no cost. It allowed for things to be built more remote. Allowed for basic creature comforts. Allowed for construction of aquaponic systems. The cost to run pumps and lights negated.
I am no longer with the group. Their direction becoming more militia style. Not my style, I prefer to remain unnoticed.
Now, I am not looking for a particular group. In a position with friends of 20+ years. Individuals I trust with my life. I do still actively work on my little projects. Still build items, test items and work to better and get more out of them. Such as the fuel cell, attempting to build a grill/stove/fire place that burns water.
What I offer to a group or individual is the ability to become more self sufficient and more off grid. I can and will consider building certain items. Obviously nothing is free, there is a materials cost, fair compensation for the time it takes.
I have seen various groups, as mentioned was part of a group. I will not disclose my location for personal safety concerns. I will only meet in a public location of my choosing. And it is highly likely you would meet only a messenger.
What I can do for you, off the grid. Provide electricity with no emissions. Little to no heat signature. Fuel cells (these are rather expensive to build, depending on what it is for extremely heavy). A smaller version can run a chain saw. Connecting your saw to the cell similar to having an electric saw. The power is not as great on the saw as gas, the fact powered by water a fair trade. Antenna systems…tv, wifi, radio. Glow lights, solar recharging glow sticks. No solar panels, I use chemicals that store solar energy, react with each other producing light. Stable fire starters, I have used a single tea spoon to start a fire using damp and green wood. Depending what your need is, I might be able to help. Maybe build a small cabin, trailer portable with a generator, water catchment, antenna. Toss in a wireless system to charge your cell phone or two way radio.
