Hey Everyone.

I am reaching out to see if there are any other Los Angeles Area preppers looking to build a team so we can share information, resources, and skills; if needed.

Being prepared is great, but being part of a group with the prepper mentality, and knowledge, is even better!
I have a wide variety of knowledge in various subjects:

farming=soil/hydroponics/aeroponics/aquaponics
long-term food storage
earth cooling systems/setup
12v/120v/240v electrical system design/setup
solar system setup/design
water filtration system setup/design
water harvesting system setup/design
off-grid vehicle design/setup
HAM radio system operation/setup
cooking/baking/meat smoking/dehydrating

Yes, it is quite a random set of skills, but I am always looking to learn new things … especially if it will benefit my self-sufficient end-goals in life. (retirement = a remote off-grid farm)
Look forward to hearing from you.

  3. Hey guys,

New to the site, but have been a “basic prepper” for a couple years. Would like to get into it a little more seriously now to be able to protect my family, come what may.

I have basic survival skills and are currently expanding my knowledge on firearms. Next, I’d like to get into live-in vans, such as these: https://thevansmith.com/

If any of you have any experience with that, please let me know.

Basically have the same retirement plan as Paul, so would love to share ideas, support the group in any way I can, and help build a strong prepper community that we can all rely on once… you know what happens.

We live in the San Fernando Valley.

    Have a great Sunday everyone!

  4. Sorry for the delay everyone! My SPAM folder was eating these replies!!! grr.

It’s great to see others on the same page as myself, quite re-assuring actually.

Good to meet you RamDanDan, MCDOJO51 (Christina), & LifeJourneyPrepper (Steve)!

So the site isn’t the easiest to use, but it serves it purpose. This is a great place/way for us to share information/resources/etc. to prepare ourselves for any future events that may arise (although 2020 has been quite eventful to say the least, and only more to come .. unfortunately).

That said, how should we do this? Suggestions?

    -Paul

  5. Hi there I am in Ventura County. Paul you have some great skills. Are you open to teaching others? Where in LA are you?

    • Welcome JJJPREPVC!

It has been a hectic past few months for me as my family decided to take the leap and move out of the city to a rural community in the Angeles Mountains. The change has been great, and the property is perfect/large enough for all the homestead projects that I have in mind for the future.

But as you can imagine it has been a lot of work as the house itself was in pretty bad shape, so that was highest priority and almost done, finally. So before the cold winter starts I need to get outside and start the exterior changes/projects. The goal is to be 100% self sufficient/ non-grid reliant by next year.. but I have a lot to do until that point.

So for now I quite occupied, but once the colder winter months/snow start, I will have more time on my hands and plan on creating a lot of content for learning/tutorial purposes which will hopefully benefit you all/the prepper community.

That said, how is everyone doing?
