40’s couple, prepared and with skills, looking for a remote bug out location & group.  Been looking at remote properties but realize can no more defend land alone than defend suburban home alone.

Would love something within 2-4 hours of Chattanooga.

  1. First, thank you guydaley for the tip about the site.

Yes, we cannot move because of our jobs. If the S never HTF we would like to have a retirement in our home. We do desire to have a location ready for a true SHTF event. Our suburban home is in an area far to population dense and in close proximity (<10 miles) to an urban center; we cannot effectively defend against large scale looting/violence in a collapse situation. We are well equipped and have plenty, including financial assets and a formidable ready service locker, to offer to the right group.

We both have skills, are both Christian, both strongly believe in Constitutional principles. Neither of us own a tin-foil hat. I'm not expecting alien invasions or literal zombies. Systemic collapse/martial law/rogue nuclear attack/law and order collapse/pandemic are examples of my real SHTF scenarios. We will shelter in place for weather events or short term emergencies. Our bug-out gear and ability to relocate quickly is in place.

PM Here if you have a group / location with space available. You can email me at osk(zero zero)3 (at sign) hushmail (dot) com

Thanks for the help and I hope to hear from some people… I know they are out there, it's getting in touch that is the hard part.

I grew up in a rural agricultural (mostly dairy) area. My wife grew up in Soybean country. I only thought I lived in the middle of nowhere.

I’m sorry you’ve been stung by church. The church is full of people, and people are fallen beings. There is still good in the community though.

If anyone out there can refer me to some solid people to get to know. MAG maybe

  3. guydaley is spot on when he says that people in Rural areas are suspicious of all outsiders-

Right now is the only time that you can actually pick who your bug out mates are. After the SHTF- you will be begging to get let into a group…any group….with your hat in your hand. And- It may not be with people that you like or have ideas and practices that you agree with!

It may be wise to cancel your vacations this summer and spend two weeks driving to peoples farms who are offering sanctuary and interview them. See if you can find a good fit for your family. This explore and, interview process is something that can only be done now- before and not after the shit falls. Remember- before it gets bad you have a choice- after, you will have no choice where you end up.

Unfortunately, most people in the USA spend more time and money on a a two week family vacation then planning their families safety and survival for their lifetime.

We are four hours north of Nashville if you care to talk.
