Hi I’m Chris.  I’m relatively new to prepping only having come across the concept about half a year ago when I read through the “Going Home” 7 book series in about a month (awesome read).  Politically I’m a moderate and open minded letting myself make decisions for me on what is best for myself, my community and my country. Religiously I’m a born-again Christian after a divorce a few years ago.  I’m a 29 year old male originally from rural Georgia having grown up on a chicken farm and having a deep love for nature, camping, hiking, fishing, hunting and anything that happens outdoors away from the hustle and bustle of what our society calls “life”….not a big believer of that.  I’m finishing up my PhD in Microbiology and Immunology in May so I’m a highly educated country boy with a love of the outdoors, shooting (particularly long range marksmanship…love my 300 win mag sniper rifle…can do inch and half groups at 300 yards 🙂 ) and a deep discontentment with where society is headed.  I’m especially talented with a microscope and a rifle,  🙂 not very common for sure, and I’m looking to join a group that can teach me more about prepping and allow me to give back to the group so we can all thrive.  I’m looking to contribute and put in some hard work for the betterment of the community.  I’m 6’4” and 250 lbs with an athletic build so I’m capable of doing some heavy lifting where its needed.  Being a grad student finances aren’t my current strength but I can definitely help out labor wise.  Let me know how I can help and become a part of your group.

  4. Hi Chris,

My name is James and I’m new to the site but after seeing your post, I think we have a lot in common and would like to talk more about forming/joining a group of younger, highly educated & like minded (read: moderate) individuals. I wouldn’t label myself as a “doomsday prepper” but like you am deeply concerned with events around the globe. As an avid outdoorsman & hunter, prepping is more of a hobby/collection of skills and gear. I’ve been prepping for approx. 3 yrs and have focused primarily on mobility/defensive preps. Yet in a SHTF scenario, one of the most valuable resources you have is the network around you, and as such I hope to plug in and develop a better one.

I’m a bio guy as well and just finished my masters. At 24 years young I don’t have much to offer either finance/land wise but have a considerable gear/asset collection able to outfit 4. My skills vary, yet I am very practical and pragmatic and am comfortable doing all sorts of things but can always learn something new.

I hope to look into this further and saw your email above so will reach out directly as well. Best
