Basically:
We are transplants from Tulsa, Oklahoma area, and new to the KC, Missouri area (Gladstone). My job has relocated us to this area back in the fall of 2011. My wife, son and self are and have been avid preppers (budget willing) for several years now. We have diligently campaigned for our friends and family to do the same and have attended several workshops and social groups back in Oklahoma.
Back in Oklahoma we had fairly decent plans of course and recourse worked out, but as fate would have it, we are no longer in a position to carry out those plans as I believe it will be extremely difficult to make it back to Oklahoma should a crap hits the fan scenario take place. We believe in God, faith and hoping for the best, but planning for the worst.
I have been in the construction trade for about 15 years. I have spent the last 5-6 years on the engineering side and am fairly mechanically inclined. I am a physically fit, trained first responder with the Oklahoma Medical Reserve Corps, and have attended several workshops for multiple disaster scenarios, basic and advanced disaster and life support classes. I’m handy with a firearm, recurve or compound bow, and have working knowledge of foraging, shelter construction, farming/gardening, hunting, fishing and work well in a group/team or on individual task’s.
We have enough food, water, supplies i.e. weapons and means of self defense to provide for ourselves for 3-4 months, and would be willing to merge our supplies with the groups for the betterment of the group as a whole. We plan to increase our food, water and ammunition stock to provide an additional 2-4 months over the next several months or as our budget will allow. We also own a very capable 4×4 vehicle with the capability to to haul ourselves plus 1-2 people, and all of our supplies plus 3 – 5 gallon jerry cans through pretty nasty terrain if need be (tried and tested).
We are looking for a decent sized group of individuals or families that are established in a rural or country setting with acreage that would be willing to allow us to add ourselves, our skills, strong backs, and supplies to bolster their group. Or, for like minded individuals with an acreage of land be willing to talk and perhaps setup a network or form a group to prepare for multiple scenario’s.

. I do not and will not ever trust the government to come to my rescue. In fact, I think they are a lot of the problem and will be the center of the problem when (or if, whichever way you wanna look at it) shtf. We have two children, two dogs and lots of chickens.
