Our group is using UHF business band for our security team and HF for comms with other groups. Our command (security) center is on the highest hill in the area and we have a 30′ tower so we get enough range to be practical. We also have a full wave CB antenna on that tower for general use.

Simplex for now . Repeaters have been talked about for the Gmrs . Also looking at routers for the mesh network.
There are portable repeaters you can get. Also a few tower repeaters.
Has anyone trained the RULE of 3s?

Is all I have I can use but for HF I need a new antenna if not repairs to my radio as well.
Hopefully you have key simplex freqs and repeater listed out for your group.
Haven’t found a group but my 2m70cm program for my mobile in my truck and my HT are based on the PrepperNet SOI which was based of the AmRRON SOI utilizing the Channel 3 project
3s is a good start! Check repeater book for repeaters in your area and listen for RACES, AmRRON, ARES, EMA, AUXCOM, SkyWarn nets.
Looking for individuals who are desiring ‘secure’ UHF communications in the Southern Nevada region. I am currently licensed for: HAM, GMRS, LMR (Land Mobile Radio, commercial) Currently have a ‘very secure’ (AES256) digital system that I need to fill slots to keep system off-grid (solar & diesel generator) at a very good elevated location.
My current project is a portable rollup antenna with high gain and very high efficiency (les than 2% power lost in antenna)!
In final stages of prototyping and possible patent for unique design. I can create for any band between VHF-AM aircraft to 13cm HAM and all in between. Please comment, if interested!

Right on! But this post is within IL. Youre ideas are good….. BUT unless you want to go HF, we have no comms!

No problem! If you do digi modes, check out JS8 and tag @TTP out for AZ. AND look up GhostNet on Utube for a Regional and Nationsal comms system. Then there AUXCUSA.
