Hi, I am pretty new to prepping. With the recent threats from the North Korea, I have started a small group. We have started putting away supplies, we have enough right now to feed 5 people for 6 months. We do not have a bunker, but we do have a secret place to go if SHTF. My husband is a mechanic and can fix and weld anything. He also is a handy man, he can build a house from the ground up. I have my bachelors in computer science, a lot of good that will do me if anything does happen but I also have other skills. I am a skilled fighter, I can sew, farm, cook anything from anything. Advanced problem solving skills and I could lead a group effectively. I can think fast and provide solutions that work to keep people alive. I have back up plans to my back up plans. Literally, printed out.

Looking for honest, hardworking people. People that will work together under extreme stress and not turn on each other. People that are loyal, who look to work forward, not backward.  I would like to start a new group so that we may learn and grow/prepare together. Interested, email me @aprillynn32 [at] live [dot] com

Family of five to ten looking to move with 90 to 120 days notice.

We are Christians.  My wife and I are retired and debt free with moderate monthly income (long as the economy lasts).  We are looking to live a self sustaining life style full time and move to join a group or help start one. By living a self-sustainable lifestyle before you can survive while thriving after any crises that may occur.  I am not looking for a place to hide and die but a permanent change in lifestyle to start getting off the grid as we can and then staying off the grid in a secure, secluded area.

I don’t want to work hard and dumb but simple and basic.  I have a lot of tools and equipment.  I hope to also get (or build) a saw mill and backhoe.

We have food, water filters, some weapons and ammo and a camper to live in till I can build a living structure.  Will be building some type of an earth structure from one of the following: Aircrete, CEB, (compressed earth block) Rammed Earth Bags and/or Adobe using the reactive home concept for a living structure (no mechanical heating or cooling) as taught by Bill Mollison long before Mike Reynolds’ Earth Ship concept ever came along.  I am thinking about build my own CEB press.  I also have the material to build a metal roof for a shop about 40’x40′ using earth walls from local soil.

I believe biofuel is one answer for renewable fuel and garbage scrap disposal.

Aquaponics is the only real answer to a year round renewable food source of meat and vegetables that I am aware of.  Built in a reactive greenhouse.

I have personal experience with compost toilets and have built two of them so far with good results.

We have a 2000 gal. rain catchment system in place at our current location.  Designed for a purification system that is renewable without going to the store for filters.  We built a furnace to make activated charcoal to use with sand (which is in abundance).  We have most of the purification system already assembled and ready for food grade 55 gal barrels.

If we join a group, we will need at least 1-2 acres to build and live on. We want to help others do the same, we also want to work on the common area preparing it for the group for when it all falls apart.

I am learning more every day and by no means have even scratched the surface so I want to learn all I can from others as well.

We have started converting our lights over to LED lighting, 12v rolls of strip lights in the old 120v light fixtures.  With changes in electrical consumption we have cut our usage in half over the last year getting ready to switch to solar and wind with battery storage.  I am leaving the old 120v system in place so I can take the new system with me.

I have a wife, two sons, (23 & 31) a daughter-in-law, daughter (26) with 3 year old son all in better than average health.  We also have friends who want to go with us as time will permit them to do so.

No medications required for any of us as we use essential oils, herbs and supplements and hopping to start grow a lot of what we will need.  I am looking forward to learning more on how to make tinctures and our own E oils.  As well as canned and fermented foods(the more of this the less refrigeration needed).   We are all on board for this.

We thought we had a place but it didn’t work out so we need to get out of the city.  We currently live in a highly populated area in an irrigated desert which is running out of water.  When power is gone, the water will be gone as will civil order.

I am a Army Vet 73 to 77 was an E5 Motor Sgt in Schweinfurt, Germany.

We have construction experience, electrical, plumbing, welding, machine, metal buildings & roofs (one retro fit roof the size of two foot ball fields 82′ up), mechanic of both gas and diesel, solar hot water system, semi truck driver, some reloading experience and equipment, certified gun smith (passed a test), canning experience with canning equipment and much more.

I have worked relief on two hurricanes working almost 30 days with each one.  So I have seen total destruction, civil disorder, rioting, marshal law with state troopers and national guard.  I’ve also seen families who were desperate and not prepared at all along with families who never missed a beat as they were ready for the natural disaster that hit.  I lived at a mission base 13 years ago with my oldest son for two months in the Amazon without power so we ate meat only when we had caught or killed it.

Eleven years ago we lived in a camper for one year on the road along the eastern coast from Niagara Falls, along the outer bank islands to Beaumont Texas then on to El Paso, down to Las Cruces, N.M, then from Sholo to Sahuarita, Arizona while homeschooling my two youngest.

We are debt free and looking to be in a group with christian values to connect with and then relocate to, which will not be a quick process as we will need to get to know each other (although time is short).  Don’t need decoder rings but security is an important point before we consider joining forces with others.  We are not looking for a group to join but one to be a part of to form friendship and trust where we cover each others back or 6 as some say.

We have served the Lord for 23 years full time without a paying full time job so we do not have a nest egg or 401K so if you are looking for someone with a lot of money look somewhere else.  If you would like a Godly relationship with a hard working and honest family then we are open to more communications as to how we could fit together.  We can support ourselves and are not looking for a free ride.

If you want to talk about someday maybe doing something then please find someone who is looking to someday maybe doing something to talk to.

If you are ready to act now, I have much more to share but will do so in a more private way.  So contact me then we can talk privately.  Email me and I will send you my phone number.

My family and I are relatively new to this, and have been prepping for a little over 2 years now.  As part of this we moved to SE Idaho, only to find the area is not typical prepper territory.  Finding like-minded people has been difficult.  Although we have been able to rouse a few people out of their sleep, none are ready for a commitment to a preparedness community.  We are seeking a group to join instead of starting our own.  Everything I have read is clear that we need to make our requirements known up front.  Here is what we are looking for, or what we stand for:

  • Patriot.  We love the Constitution, and support law enforcement and the military when they perform their legal functions.
  • Christian.  Many groups we have seen here are “just respect each other and we will be okay”.  We don’t believe that works long term.  It works fine for people not having to interact with each other every day.  It doesn’t work for people in close proximity all the time, where their worldview will probably conflict on issues that affect everyone personally.  While it would work prior to an event, after an event, when you have daily working relationships under possibly difficult conditions, it becomes a natural fracture point for a community.
  • Democratic in nature, but with a strong leader.  Decision making is up to the community, BUT when something happens and a decision needs to be made yesterday, there needs to be a leader in place to make a decision and can deal with the pressure brought by other leaders, but still hold a group together.  No dictatorships, just strength.
  • Everyone has a life until TEOTWAWKI.  I have had good interactions with a group in northern Idaho, but their demands are quite stringent, enough so that it affects life in the current normal.  Every group has demands and should.  The demands must be reasonable, although we agree that if events point to a need for more activity, demands should increase.
  • The group must be organized.  There are many groups without bylaws or realistic preparedness expectations, exactly the opposite of the last point made.  At a minimum, we would expect to have requirements for gear, food storage, retreat planning, acceptance of new members both before and after an event, list of specialties/skills for group members to have or pursue, and group operations after an event.  There are others that are important, but you get the idea.
  • A TEOTWAWKI mindset.  We do not believe that preparing for an extended weather or natural disaster emergency is enough.  To use a pop culture reference, if you aren’t preparing for the zombie apocalypse, you are not preparing.  Of course there are levels of preparedness to go through to reach that point, but the end goal for our family is complete group sufficiency.
  • Acceptance of young children.  There are some groups that will not accept families with young kids.  We have two, both under 11 years old.
  • We are willing to move at some point in the future, but it is not in the plans at this time.

About us:

  • All in good health without medical needs.  I am in my mid 40’s and my wife is in her mid 30’s.  I have had several accidents over the years requiring surgery, but in no way does it limit my ability to contribute physically to the group.
  • I am a minister and an engineer.  BA in Computer Science.  Former military (only 2 years), artillery attached to a light infantry division, but no combat experience.  I have experience in the medical field as a CNA and am working on becoming proficient in long term survival medicine.
  • My wife is a homemaker, home school teacher, and is learning about basic natural medicine, such as essential oils and remedies for common ailments without the use of modern medication.  Formerly a pharmacy technician.
  • Currently ready for a one year emergency from a food and basic gear standpoint.

looking forward to hearing from you all.

We are blessed to live on our East Texas 50+ acre homestead full-time, to spend every day molding and shaping it’s potential into reality. As a family, we have decided that we would like to offer the opportunity for certain folks to become a part of our community. We have discussed a few potential options and welcome ideas, because every situation is different. The benefits of a full-time homestead without the massive down payment, 30yr mortgage, 3+hour daily commute and 60hr farm work week. In addition, we offer the opportunity to build camaraderie, to develop and enhance our sustainability skill-set…to become a community BEFORE an event. This won’t be for everyone – It will require background checks, initial public meetings, time and financial investments.
Mister is a former Marine, law enforcement officer and firearms instructor with 25+yrs of experience. Missus is an IT Professional by day, and homestead supermom by night. A high school senior and fourth grader are cheerful farm hands. Extended family includes Army Ranger and Trauma Nurse. Dogs, barn kitty, chickens, ducks…there are always animals! We are a typical Christian family that loves to laugh, hike, watch movies, etc. We work very hard, and we try to play just as hard! We also ensure our family and our farm are prepared for any eventuality. You can email us info [at] txexitstrategy [dot] com or visit that site for more info.

My wife and I are looking for a group to join forces with. If we can’t find anyone we think is going in the right direction and we feel comfortable with (reciprocal of course) we will start a group. We are interested in living full-time in a secure and 100% self-sufficient small community. We have many skills and resources. We have excellent property already set up as an adequate bug-out location, but it doesn’t have enough arable land to support more than a few families in a sustainable way. We can get more, no big deal, but do we want to foot the bill for everyone? Not really, and if you’re not invested, you’re not as likely to be committed. Of course, we recognize there are other ways to be invested than financially, and many people simply don’t have the cash. So to us, a significant factor would be ownership.

The thing that bothers me most about other people is extremism. I mean that in general, not specifically the way the word is thrown around in the media these days. So I don’t want to go to any extremes and say that everyone must own land or that no one may own land. I believe it is workable to have a mix. We like private ownership, but that may not be what works for everyone. Many people prefer to rent and avoid the responsibilities of ownership. Some are in the middle; willing to own their home but unwilling to maintain the grounds such as condo ownership. The right legal structure could certainly allow for, and protect the people involved in any number of scenarios. Tennessee law not only allows, but encourages common interest developments. We would definitely be looking for (or creating) a good, fair legal structure.

We envision a group of 50 or so on a compound of 50 or so acres which is in turn surrounded by about 100 acres or more of forest.

We are not particularly religious, and we have no bias against anyone.

We are not militaristic, but we will defend our community. We consider concealment to be the first line of defense, deterrence the second, and overwhelming force the last.

We believe in the fundamental principles of the U.S. Constitution. We aren’t interested in dictatorships, theocracies, socialism, communism, etc.

We believe we can produce everything needed in a permanently sustainable way by carefully balanced group members.

We don’t want to do anything illegal.

If you already have such community, we would be very interested.

If you are interested in throwing in with us, we can offer land (52 acres) for your use now. As I said, we are looking for more, so I can’t say what the future might hold. I can say that we are ethical and fair.

We have been prepping for many years and looking to take the next step. We haven’t found a community in the area that we am living or wanting to bug out too. So we are looking for information to help us set up a community to help us with our learning curve. any forms, formats, guidance would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks
