Will join or start a “local” group if I can link up with anyone in this area. Southern TN is “local” as is Huntsville, Lake Guntersville, Stephenson, Gurly, and the general area.
I’m new to Central Ohio from the East Coast and I’m in search of people in the area who are willing to share their knowledge with a chick who’s eager to learn.
I have some general knowledge about various survival skills, but I’ve never had the opportunity to practice them with someone who is knowledgeable and experienced. I’m looking to learn the following:
–fishing and cleaning fish
–Local edible/medicinal wild plant identification and harvesting
I do have knowledge about various things that I’d be happy to share, although I’m not sure how relevant my knowledge is to SHTF scenarios….
Baking/cooking from scratch, health insurance, basic sewing, childcare /child development, psychology, floral arrangements… ummm…. I can help you decode what your wife might want from you? I know enough about a lot of little things, so ask me and maybe I know stuff you’re interesting in?
My name is Faith, I am a 20-year-old prepper. I’ve been learning and practicing prepping since I was twelve years old. Recently I have developed a master plan for SHTF scenarios, and I’d like to create an established group of preppers, young or old, new or experienced; to help me build that community. Currently, I live in Barren County, Kentucky, however, I want the community to go beyond physical location.
I’ll attach a copy of my plan files below.
My plan for this network goes like this: This forum thread is the online base camp for us to communicate. Currently, it is just me, but those that wish to form an official network. We will swap contact information, a name you wish to be called and a general location (nothing too specific, just to get a basic idea as to where we all are.)
From there we’d discuss our knowledge of prepping and any other questions, then when enough people are a part of this network, choose a place for a meet up to get to know each other and establish not only a network but also a friendship, with a common goal of preparedness and survival.
Just as a precaution I’ll make something clear up front: I am a tolerant, open minded person. I respect all ways of life and those who wish to join will not be discriminated on for any reason, you will be judged by your words and actions alone. I will not accept bigoted, racist, sexist, or any form of prejudice. All opinions and expressions are welcomed to be voiced but please do so in a respectable manner. It is encouraged to site and support all statements for show education on the topic of discussion. Bottom line, regardless of skin color, culture, religion, gender, sexuality or any other label we are all here to prepare and share knowledge of survival, and life doesn’t care who or what you are.
With that our of the way:
Those who wish to join the network can post a reply to this post with a method of contact and I will respond within three days. Questions or comments can be discussed here as well.
Note: not all my files will be shown, for security reasons, but you can get an idea of my plans.

WHO WE ARE-
We are a family of four. I am 37 yr old male, my wife is 36 and we have two sons 14 / 7. I own a construction company in Maine and will be semi retiring within the next year, maybe two if I can stand it. I am very skilled at many jack of all trades things. I know that doesn’t put me at the top of most lists of skill sets needed so I will list some of what I have done.
Rebuild 1970 backhoe / Build my high end custom off grid house / built my barn, mini barn, shelter, septic, 1,000ft driveway, clearing for house / Spent last 10 years living completely off grid with solar (I am poor in the electrical skills department) / Built my construction company from scratch to be able to retire by age 38 / I train with my firearms and tac gear, currently hiring pro trainer for private lessons.
While this is not a list of my skills, it is a list of things I have accomplished with skills I have and have acquired. My main focus now on skill building is with tactical firearms training which I am doing every month and on the side at my personal range. I am also use to extremely high stress environments due to doing construction for 15 years. My wife has pioneer skills like making bone broth on our wood stove and sewing, natural medicine, soap making, excellent garden skills, and is great at animal husbandry. She does everything for vet work with our goats including giving them shots, and giving birth to their kids. We raise goats, rabbits, and chickens. All by her initiative and I essentially am her farm hand. My two sons are home schooled. (by my wife) They are typical children. Though they do help us daily with chores and are not completely ruined by the school system.
We live in Maine. You could learn a bit about me by looking up some of my Maine posts. (Maine retreat post deleted.) We currently have a retreat. Probably one of the better locations as we are a mile down a dirt road off grid surrounded by 3,000 acres. We have lived here for 10 years and built the place from scratch. I am strongly considering a move to WV. My reasoning behind this is due to a few different things. I don’t really like the idea of harsh winters for a SHTF situation. It is not good for long term survival and patrol defense. Also we have a poor water issue here at my retreat. Another reason why I would leave is because I struggle with winter blues and would like to find somewhere that has more of a mild winter with temps in the 40’s and 50’s like I see in WV. Also I have sought and sought to build a dedicated group here and no one has had any interest in joining. So I am at the point where in approx 1 year I will be able to financially uproot. I post this now at this time because it would be good to build a relationship with a new group now and strongly work towards this as I assume that this is going to take some time. Not that I am trying to drag this out.
Our preps are complete for the most part to a high standard. Our list of supplies would far exceed 90% of most. The best way that I can say this is that we are 1 family and have essentially prepared for a small group due to no one joining us I have laid up for my neighbors without them knowing as I just did not have another solution. If you seem like a good fit for us I will gladly share more info on this sensitive topic, but just know that our preps will exceed your expectations. We even have an “ace card” that would help to financially take care of us and a whole group for lifes basic needs in the event of a collapsed economy as long as there is still some kind of commerce and shipping even if the cost of everything is inflated by a dollar collapse. No mooch’s please we are not rich. Just have an investment that is not subject to dollar or stock crash.
We are christians. I have been a believer in Jesus for 19 years. I have a mixed doctrinal back ground, but am very solid and not full of wacky teachings. My wife has been a christian for 14 years. We would like to find more fellowship where we move as the church here is pretty much just an in and out non participant entertainment atmosphere. I can get along with brothers from most denominational back grounds as long as their beliefs are not cultic or new age like. If there is something that we don’t agree on I am humble and still able to get along as long as it is not related to salvation or who Jesus is which I have conservative / early christian roots regarding. I do love to converse about many different biblical topics though.
Although I am not fond of the current state of our country, (quite embarrassed actually) I am a patriot and believe in the constitution of the united states.
Our health overall is good. I could use some jogging, although I am physically fit from doing farm work and construction work for years. I am not over weight. Essentially can not put on weight as I could use to gain a few pounds in the Maine winters. My sons are typical healthy children. My wife overall is not unhealthy, but she does have limes. (from a tick bite) She has been doing some super cleansing and major dietary work with some natural health physicians to flush out the lime. In less than 4 months it has been working showing night and day improvement. So all and all this is not an issue. Just want to be upfront about it.
WHAT WE SEEK-
We seek a well established small/medium sized group. We would really prefer the people of this group to have christian background and beliefs and good moral ethics. I am hoping that in the group some of the skill sets would be some military and leo and medic skills. The groups retreat should have extremely ideal defensive location well away from big cities. I would not want to be taking a step back in the quality of what we have for a location at my current home. Group must have 1-3 years supplies for all members and be getting together on a regular basis to train. Must be in a similar position of your preps as I am or we would not be a good fit. I am not supplying a group although I am not selfish either and realize that we all come together on this and form a group with some who have strengths in other areas. Not a group with just an informal bug out plan of a few families with no organization or forward moving goals. Ideally the members of this group would be close in friendship and like a small family. I am only interested in groups where every member is like minded and active in some way within the group. I am not interested in groups that just invite anyone. I would hope that you would be very careful in your selection of people to join as this is not a free for all type of thing that anyone even reading on this forum should be like even though I see some of that here. I realize how hard it is to find people who are trust worthy and also have skills and motivation/ability to prep. It would be preferred if there were some kind of pre-established bylaws for times of peace and post shtf. Also we would be of the mindset that it would be necessary to store the majority of our preps at the retreat as moving them after an EMP event would not be desirable if possible. Being from the other side of the fence when it comes to owning a retreat we see the necessity of these things and even though we don’t have them established here it is something we desire and see would only help for smooth operation. All of what belongs to us will be labeled so that it is easy to identify in the event of a future move although that is not what I am interested in. I want to do this right and don’t have time for a mistake here. We do not want anyone who is affiliated with any racist, cult, or anti government type groups. Also even though I would like it if there is military / leo skills within the group I am not looking for a militia type group, though I do think it is extremely important that we train as a group for patrol/security. I think that it is extremely important that there is a multi leadership and not a single commanding king withing the group. Although I do realize that in many cases executive decisions will need to be made. Jonathan Hollerman’s books talk a lot about this.
WHAT WE BRING-
(Actually SOME of what we bring, as I would never list it all on here. I only write this so that you can make a judgement to the level of our preps. The things that I write should let you know where we are at.)
Two EMP proof vehicles diesel and gas. Foot powered grain thresher. Deep well hand pump. Shallow well pump. 5 dakota alerts. 1,000 jars with ten x times that in lids. Diesel generator. Diesel fuel trailer. Retreat size supply of medical items. Retreat size supply of many other things I feel I should probably not mention here, I am speaking about the core essentials. We also have 15 goats and half a dozen meat rabbits we would want to bring. At least some of the goats. Storage for all of these items could be an issue. Some of it can go in a conex box and some would need to have stabilized temps. We would also bring my skid steer and all of the attachments- in new condition. And could bring my old backhoe if there wasn’t a machine to dig on site. And the list goes on.
My plan is to continue to do what I am doing and prep where I am. I am going to continue to run my company in order to bring in enough cash flow to buy a house and make the expensive move and also to have enough to start another business when I get to a new location. By the time that I move I will not have to work, but I think it would be irresponsible and lazy being only 38 or 39 to completely retire. I will try to make a business that would benefit our preps in some way.
Let me know if we seem like a good fit and we can consider the same and if all works out we can begin to entertain the possibility of making a move in the upcoming year.
At this time we have not joined a group and would also be interested in single families. We are currently seeking to buy a large piece of property this summer in Southern WV to begin to build our retreat location. So if you are interested in starting something small with us from the ground up then please contact me and if it is a good fit for both of us then perhaps we can move forward.

Hi, I am pretty new to prepping. With the recent threats from the North Korea, I have started a small group. We have started putting away supplies, we have enough right now to feed 5 people for 6 months. We do not have a bunker, but we do have a secret place to go if SHTF. My husband is a mechanic and can fix and weld anything. He also is a handy man, he can build a house from the ground up. I have my bachelors in computer science, a lot of good that will do me if anything does happen but I also have other skills. I am a skilled fighter, I can sew, farm, cook anything from anything. Advanced problem solving skills and I could lead a group effectively. I can think fast and provide solutions that work to keep people alive. I have back up plans to my back up plans. Literally, printed out.
Looking for honest, hardworking people. People that will work together under extreme stress and not turn on each other. People that are loyal, who look to work forward, not backward. I would like to start a new group so that we may learn and grow/prepare together. Interested, email me @[email protected]

With all the issues with North Korea lately and other issues such as tornadoes, floods etc. starting to take prepping more seriouslly and would like to connect with others.
Right now just looking to meet other like minded people and learn strategies etc. but maybe eventually join a group. 30 y.o. male with a family. Can offer skills in the architectural / construction field including help with building bunkers, security etc. No criminal background, college educated, but don’t hold it against anyone who is not. Not religious but not irresponsible either. Thanks.
My name is Ruth I am 60 and have 2 adult boys we have been preppers for better than 20 years. We are Christians and know the hour is very late .in the realm of birth pains and the world we are seeing and living in i would say we are crowning. We are honest ,loyal and loving people we are also hardy .strong and no pushovers. We take care of our own and others. My boys have a great number of advanced skills and would be an asset to any group. We forge and pay our own way no freeloaders here.WE are not rich but we are not poor.
We have what we need to last for a long haul.We would like to find a group to add safety in numbers to our preps and to yours as well.If you have good land for your bug out local and you want to pick your new neighbors who are willing to pitch in and even buy an acre or two to help with cost and your investment let us know.
contact us at [email protected]
please note for anyone seeing money signs we can not and will not be taken advantage of “promise”.
Really new to this. I’ve always been all about making sure to save things and not be wasteful, and have emergency supplies “just in case.” With the way the world is going, though, I want to do something more palpable, focused, and purposeful. I know there’s plenty of preppers in Idaho in Boise and northward. I live in Southeastern Idaho, though, so I wouldn’t be opposed to getting input, help, advice, etc. from experienced people in Utah, Montana, or Wyoming, too.
Thank you for adding me, I look forward to networking with you all.
We have a great deal of practice at being part of the group, we have lived with 4 preper groups 2 groups for just over a year each, one group for two years and a long term for 6 years.
We left on good terms with each and that is no small undertaking.Their is no perfect family and no perfect group. We have been witness to some of the most interesting group dynamics.Family, marriage, groups each is a commitment day by day a decision that this is what i will work at and this is were i wish to be. We have never been kicked out or asked to leave any group. We have worked very hard with others to build their infrastructure log cabins, crops, wells, solar power even under ground storm shelters ”bunkers”
What we want
A serious and real group of for the most part like minded people who wish to learn from one and other teach one and other, train together of course with in reason for what could be very interesting and trying times ahead or what do we prep for? We wish to join an established group who want to add to their security, their workforce and their skill sets .We would prefer the Pacific Northwest area as this is our stomping grounds,But for the right group of people and right place we could be open.
Some of what i watch for and study and prep for. our Economy /debt/the fed/I.M.F those are all good right?, Natural disaster/national natural disaster,False flags, cyber attack/true or false flag,/E.M.P,/WAR/world war Nope no chance of that right?N.a.t.o,/U.N WOW this list could pretty big so that will do. And these are among the most reasonable, rational and logical in the prep world.
What we bring to the table,
2 very able body males over 10 years off grid living experience.Husbandry Goats, chickens, rabbits, horses.growing food /vegetables in many different states /environments.Rustic log cabin building, some carpentry skills, off grid tools.First aid and C.P.R as well as advanced field medic training .Disclaimer lived with army medic 5 years navy medic 1 year trained with both i am not a doctor.
Supplies/security/and other skills 4×4 pickup/work truck ,over a years food stock for a group of 4,A good stock of survival gear, top class A/R’s scoped green laser with flashlight and strobe with sidearms and a modest arsenal hunting weapons/ammo.bush craft and survival skills at instructor levels
If you are looking for people you can count on we are your guys we even come with references from other group members we have lived with long term to learn more contact us here or at our e mail [email protected]

I am reaching out to any like minded Preppers or Prepper Families in or around East Tennessee.
I am willing to email ideas back and forth to run scenarios by each other. Or meet you in a public place for a cold drink and just shoot the breeze for awhile and bounce ideas off of each other to try to keep you from making mistakes i may have already made or so you can help me to keep from making mistakes you may have already made and learned from. Cause it helps to learn from other peoples mistakes that cost time and money.

Where we raise Chickens, Rabbits, Meat Goats and an occasional Hog. My wife is wanting to become a better gardener. My daughter is wanting to work on raising milk goats. We have trail horses. I am a teacher looking for a prepper group outside of Houston – outside of Dallas, San Antonio, or Austin (and I’m open to other areas if the right fit). I’ve been seriously considering living permanently in an RV to save money and have a bug-out vehicle. I was raised on a farm and looking to live that simple, joyful life again. I’ve been studying the Bible, watched many documentaries, and read a lot of independent news – all pointing to end times very near, such as an economic collapse and/or major catastrophes. Recently, one quote from Jesus that got my attention is, “Look, I will come as unexpectedly as a thief! Blessed are all who are watching for me, who keep their clothing ready so they will not have to walk around naked and ashamed.” (Rev 16:15)
I interpret that to mean that those of us who are watching for Jesus to come back will see the signs and prepare, thus preventing the unnecessary suffering that comes with not preparing. I think of the danger of being in the cities, FEMA, coastline disasters, flooding in low elevation, being without shelter, clothing, and food if forced to evacuate unexpectedly. So many people tell me not to listen the doom and gloom, to be more optimistic, that I’m creating insecurity this way, that I should buy real estate and make money instead of buying an RV and being a nomad, that we’re going to die anyway, blah blah… I am looking for like-minded people with strong minds, level-headed people, Christians, who will be an extended family to me and my daughter. Please let me know if you’re interested in discussing further, or if you have any advice or thoughts on what I’ve shared, please reply. Thank you.

New member of the prepping community looking to join with other survival-oriented people in the southwest area. Currently in NM, able to travel. Own my own weapons and a small gear stockpile. Unable to stockpile any great quantity of food and water due to living space restrictions and lack of funding. Humans are social animals who, despite being *able* to survive alone, function best in groups. I’m just looking for somewhere I can help out.
Skills: decent marksman, moderate first aid experience, several years’ backpacking experience. Former boy scout and ROTC cadet. Employed as a chemistry assistant in an electroplating shop for 4 years. Some minor communications and electrical experience. Helped build 2 houses in the Las Cruces area, know my way around manual labor construction a fair bit.
If anyone in the southwest area has an existing group that could use an extra set of working hands, with a halfway decent brain attached, please let me know.
Other Useful skills offered as well

Just want to send out a new post since the old post is from last August. Been hard to meet people with life and schedules, but for any MD prepped out there, hit me up. Keep up the good fight. Hope to hear from you.
